ENCE Records Close to €1 Million in Profits in 2022

In an era where the esports industry is reeling from financial uncertainties, one organization stands tall amidst the chaos – ENCE. The illustrious esports group has recently unveiled an impressive financial performance for the year 2022, boasting a staggering net profit of approximately €1 million. This accomplishment reflects ENCE’s robust ability to flourish in the unpredictable economic terrain of the esports realm.

ENCE’s extraordinary success owes much to its globally recognized Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) team. The organization astutely capitalized on CS:GO’s burgeoning popularity, ensuring a foothold in the intensely competitive esports arena. The impressive track record of the team, spearheaded by the gifted Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer, attracted considerable acclaim, leading to profitable sponsorship agreements.

ENCE’s voyage to triumph began with a bang in the first half of 2022, marked by exceptional achievements. Earning a coveted runner-up position at the renowned ESL Pro League Season 15 and an admirable top-four finish at PGL Major Antwerp, ENCE’s spectacular performance sparked interest from numerous stakeholders.

While facing adversities in the later part of the year, including the exit of Lotan “Spinx” Giladi to Vitality, ENCE showcased unparalleled determination, earning a place in the esteemed IEM Rio Major. Their indomitable spirit played an instrumental role in the organization’s unprecedented success.

Participation in eminent esports tournaments was a pivotal element in ENCE’s revenue augmentation. The profitable sale of Major stickers, in particular, significantly boosted ENCE’s fiscal performance.

Being among the fifteen premier teams associated with ESL through the Louvre Agreement was another contributor to ENCE’s triumph. This privileged partnership assures ENCE of their fixed participation in two ESL Pro League seasons annually and accessibility to other ESL Pro Tour competitions. Furthermore, it provides ENCE a share of the revenues garnered from these initiatives, strengthening their financial foothold.

ENCE’s unique ability to function independently without external financial support is a crucial aspect of their success story. By employing effective resource management tactics and nurturing home-grown talent, ENCE has crafted a sustainable business model that consistently delivers positive results.

Despite the tall order of surpassing their monumental achievements of 2022, ENCE remains sanguine about the future. They plan to delve into prospective partnerships and sponsorships, utilizing their formidable market position and devoted fanbase. Further, they intend to explore new game expansions aligning with their long-term fiscal goals.

ENCE’s journey serves as a beacon of tenacity, creativity, and fiscal prosperity in the evolving esports domain. With their remarkable fiscal performance in 2022 and a forward-looking vision, ENCE stands poised to retain its top-tier status in the thriving world of esports.

Monte CSGO players accused of breaking war-time travel policy

In the wake of the much-anticipated BLAST Paris Major, seven skilled Counter-Strike gamers have found themselves in a sticky legal situation.

On May 26, the Ukrainian Sports Ministry released a list of 236 athletes who did not comply with the country’s travel laws by remaining in foreign countries instead of returning home. In this piece, we explore the background of this occurrence and illuminate the potential repercussions for the involved players.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Youth and Sports named 236 athletes who were supposed to return but didn’t before the deadline given to escorenews. Seven prominent Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players were killed, including Monte’s Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev, Volodymyr “Woro2k” Veletnjuk, and Serghij “DemQQ” Demchenko, and B8’s Arsenyj “cptkurtka023” Derevynskyj, Denys “amster” Ljashenko, Aleksei “alex666” Notable names on the roster include Monte CEO Dmytro Vovk.

It’s a reminder that following all transport laws is crucial, especially when attending a sporting event. In light of the ongoing confrontation with Russia, Ukraine has implemented severe steps to ensure the safety of its residents. The purpose of martial law is to protect male Ukrainian citizens aged 18-60 and to help stabilize the country by limiting their freedom of movement.

Due to Russia’s ongoing conflict with Ukraine, martial law barred male Ukrainian nationals between 18 and 60 from leaving. Athletes competing in international competitions were, however, exempted from this rule. Under the stipulation that they would return to Ukraine after the competition was over, the Ukrainian Ministry of Sports allowed certain athletes to travel abroad.

Monte was one of the most impressive teams in the BLAST Paris Major, as they finished in the top eight despite being heavily favored to place lower than they did. In contrast, B8 participated in the European RMR A qualification before the main tournament and were eliminated by Cloud9.

While in Poland, sdy was able to complete his commitments to the online ESL Challenger League matches against Team Spirit Academy and Sprout. He plans to get back to us “in a few days.”

Monte closed their statement by expressing their pride in representing Ukraine internationally and bringing awareness of the ongoing conflict. They apologized to the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and indicated their desire to continue representing their country.

However, the whereabouts of Monte’s CEO were not mentioned, and B8 has not yet issued a comment about the individuals involved.

Travel overseas will likely become more difficult for the players named if they violate the travel guidelines. On August 30, Monte will host the opening ceremony for ESL Pro League Season 18, an upcoming worldwide LAN event.

The lives of these great Ukrainian CSGO players are on the line as we wait for more information about the possible consequences of their conduct.

The esports world has been paying close attention to the recent news of Ukrainian CSGO players breaching travel regulations. These talented gamers may be penalized for disobeying Ukrainian government travel restrictions after showcasing their skills at the BLAST Paris Major.

However, athletes competing internationally were exempted from the ban because of the role sports play in promoting positive international relations and showcasing Ukrainian ability. Athletes from Ukraine were given permission to travel abroad on the condition that they would return home as soon as their competitions ended.

Seven CSGO players, including some well-known personalities from Monte and B8, have been named as violators, bringing the issue to the fore. Monte surprised everyone by defeating Natus Vincere and making the top eight in the BLAST Paris Major. However, B8’s run in the European RMR A qualifier was cut short when they lost to Cloud9.

Monte offered an apology to the Ukrainian Ministry of Youth and Sports once the news broke. They spoke about the weight of their deeds and the honor it was to represent Ukraine abroad. Both their success in the competition and their advocacy for the Ukrainian armed forces demonstrate their loyalty to the country.

Monte may have explained why they were delayed, but their CEO’s whereabouts are still unknown. Furthermore, B8, the squad suspected of being involved, has not yet issued a statement regarding the involvement of their players.

Immediate repercussions for the athletes’ infractions are currently unknown. However, it is expected that persons on the list will have much fewer options to go internationally in the future. Their ability to compete on a worldwide stage may be hampered as a result of this tragic turn of events.

The ESL Pro League Season 18 in Malta will be Monte’s next international LAN event, beginning on August 30. Whether or not these players will be allowed to compete depends on what happens next and what kind of sanctions the Ukrainian Sports Ministry decides to issue.

Singaporean Valorant Pro Convicted in Match-Fixing Scandal

In a shocking turn of events, two Singaporean players have been convicted in a match-fixing scandal that has sent ripples through the esports community. The case centered around a VALORANT tournament during the 2020 Ignition Series, has raised concerns about integrity and fair play in competitive gaming. This article dives into the details of the conviction, highlighting the need for a robust response to combat match-fixing and preserve the credibility of esports.

Malcolm Chung Wai Kiat and Ryan Tan Shern’s Involvement

According to The Straits Time, Malcolm Chung Wai Kiat, 25, and Ryan Tan Shern, 21, found themselves at the center of a match-fixing scheme that unfolded during a professional VALORANT match. Initial reports indicate that Tan provided funds to Chung, who deliberately lost the match after placing bets on the outcome.

The relationship between Chung and Tan dates back six years when they were playing Counter-Strike. Unfortunately, Tan’s inability to repay a gambling-related debt of $740 (S$1,000) paved the way for their involvement in the match-fixing endeavor.

Desperate to recover the borrowed money, Tan sought a loan of $2,216 (S$3,000) from his brother, which he promptly transferred to Chung. During a significant VALORANT event, the Epulze Royal SEA Cup in September 2020, Chung used this cash to place five wagers against his own team. As the captain of the RSG Resurgence Esports’ VALORANT team, Chung’s underperformance and instruction to his teammates to do the same resulted in a devastating loss for their side.

The match-fixing charge specifically pertains to a game against BlackBird Ignis, where RSG Resurgence Esports suffered a 0-2 defeat. According to Deputy Public Prosecutor David Menon, Chung’s deliberate underperformance and manipulation of his teammates led to the loss. It’s worth noting that BlackBird Ignis featured three members of the current IGZIST roster, a team that achieved a seventh-place finish in split two of the VALORANT Challengers Japan 2023 tournament.

Legal Proceedings and Sentencing

Following suspicions of foul play, the match-fixing incident was brought to the attention of authorities in June 2021 when the COO of Resurgence filed a police report. On August 5, both Chung and Tan were charged with corruption. Tan pleaded guilty on January 5, while Chung was found guilty on May 26.

The sentencing reflects the severity of the offense. Tan will undergo a minimum of six months of reformative training, designed to rehabilitate individuals facing addiction. Chung, on the other hand, received a four-month prison sentence. These sentences are meant to discourage match-fixing in the future and convey the seriousness of its repercussions.

Comparing Punishments: Contrasting Outcomes

Drawing a comparison with a previous match-fixing case in the Australian scene, where Ty “junglew0w” O’Donnell and Eli Clarke were found guilty, reveals divergent outcomes. O’Donnell and Clarke received a 12-month “good behavior bond” and were required to repay the funds to the betting company, Ladbrokes, while also making donations to gambling support organizations. In contrast, Tan and Chung faced more severe penalties, highlighting the different approaches taken by authorities in addressing match-fixing within esports.

Implications for Esports and Riot Games’ Response

Interestingly, Riot Games, the company behind VALORANT, has not publicly issued any competitive or general bans against convicted players. However, it’s important to note that neither Tan nor Chung has competed professionally for over a year, potentially impacting their careers and reputations within the gaming community.

The recent conviction of these Singaporean individuals involved in the match-fixing scandal serves as a stark reminder of the importance of maintaining integrity and fair play in esports. It shines a spotlight on the pressing issue of match-fixing within the gaming industry, calling for sustained efforts to combat such illicit activities.

By imposing significant penalties and fostering vigilance among esports organizations, tournament organizers, and gaming communities, the future of esports can be safeguarded as a fair and transparent competitive landscape.

7 CSGO Pros Accused of Breaking Ukraine’s Wartime Travel Policy

Seven talented Counter-Strike players who recently participated in the highly anticipated BLAST Paris Major have found themselves entangled in a legal predicament. The Ukrainian Sports Ministry, on May 26, unveiled a list of 236 athletes who failed to adhere to the country’s travel regulations by not returning home following the competition. In this article, we delve into the circumstances surrounding this incident and shed light on the potential consequences for these players.

In light of Russia’s ongoing conflict with Ukraine, martial law was imposed in the country, prohibiting male Ukrainian nationals between the ages of 18 and 60 from leaving. However, an exception was made for athletes participating in international sporting events. The Ukrainian Sports Ministry permitted selected foreign travel on the condition that athletes return to Ukraine after the competition’s conclusion.

As reported by escorenews, the Ukrainian Ministry of Youth and Sports disclosed the names of 236 athletes who failed to comply with the expected return date. Among them were seven esteemed CSGO players: Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev, Volodymyr “Woro2k” Veletnjuk, and Serghij “DemQQ” Demchenko from Monte, along with Arsenyj “cptkurtka023” Derevynskyj, Denys “amster” Ljashenko, Aleksei “alex666” Yarmoshchuk, and Mykhajlo “OWNER” Lymar from B8. Notably, Dmytro Vovk, CEO of Monte, was also included in the list.

Monte emerged as one of the standout teams in the BLAST Paris Major, surpassing expectations by outperforming their fellow countrymen, Natus Vincere, and ultimately securing a top-eight finish. On the other hand, B8 competed in the European RMR A qualifier just prior to the main tournament, where they, unfortunately, faced elimination at the hands of Cloud9.

Following the publication of the list, Monte issued an apology to the ministry and provided an explanation through a post on Telegram. They stated that while authorized by the sports ministry to participate in the European RMR B qualifier until April 16, they decided to disregard the restriction and remain until the Major’s conclusion on May 21 when DemQQ and Woro2k returned home.

To meet his obligations in the online ESL Challenger League matches against Team Spirit Academy and Sprout, sdy temporarily relocated to Poland. He intends to return “in a few days.”

Monte concluded their statement by emphasizing their pride in representing Ukraine on a global stage and their contributions to raising awareness of the ongoing conflict. They expressed regret for not adhering to the travel regulations promptly, acknowledging the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and their aspirations to continue showcasing their country’s excellence. However, no mention was made regarding the whereabouts of Monte’s CEO, and B8 is yet to release a statement regarding the players implicated in the incident.

While the specific consequences for violating the travel rules remain uncertain, it is expected that travel abroad will become significantly more challenging for the players listed. Monte’s upcoming international LAN event, the ESL Pro League Season 18 in Malta, is scheduled to commence on August 30.

As the situation unfolds, the future of these talented Ukrainian CSGO players hangs in the balance, awaiting clarity on the potential ramifications they may face for their actions.

The recent revelation of Ukrainian CSGO players breaking travel laws has sparked considerable attention within the esports community. These players, who showcased their skills at the BLAST Paris Major, now find themselves facing potential consequences for their failure to comply with the travel regulations imposed by the Ukrainian government.

The incident highlights the importance of respecting and abiding by travel laws, even in the context of sporting events. As Ukraine grapples with the ongoing conflict with Russia, stringent measures have been put in place to safeguard its citizens. The martial law, which restricts the movement of male Ukrainian nationals between the ages of 18 and 60, aims to ensure their safety and contribute to the country’s stability.

However, exceptions were made for athletes participating in international competitions, recognizing the significance of sports in fostering international relations and providing a platform for Ukrainian talent to shine. The Ukrainian Sports Ministry’s approval of foreign travel for athletes came with the expectation that they would promptly return to Ukraine following the conclusion of their respective events.

The inclusion of seven CSGO players on the list of violators, including notable names from Monte and B8, has brought the issue to the forefront. Monte, in particular, proved to be a pleasant surprise in the BLAST Paris Major, defeating their compatriots, Natus Vincere, and making it to the top eight. B8, on the other hand, had their journey cut short in the European RMR A qualifier, falling to Cloud9.

In response to the revelation, Monte expressed remorse and issued an apology to the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine. They acknowledged the gravity of their actions and highlighted the pride they felt in representing Ukraine on a global stage. Their achievements in the tournament, coupled with their efforts to raise awareness and support for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, further underscore their dedication to their country.

While Monte provided an explanation for their delay in returning, the whereabouts of their CEO remain undisclosed. Additionally, B8, the team implicated in the incident, has yet to release a statement addressing their players’ involvement.

The immediate consequences for the athletes’ transgressions remain uncertain. However, it is anticipated that future travel opportunities abroad will be significantly impacted for those listed. This unfortunate turn of events may hinder their participation in international tournaments and limit their ability to compete on a global scale.

Looking ahead, Monte’s next international LAN event is scheduled to be the ESL Pro League Season 18 in Malta, which is set to commence on August 30. Whether the players involved will be allowed to participate remains uncertain, pending further developments and potential sanctions imposed by the Ukrainian Sports Ministry.

As the esports community waits for more information regarding the penalties these players may face, this incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to travel regulations and maintaining the integrity of competitive sports. It is hoped that the consequences, whatever they may be, will serve as a learning opportunity for athletes and reinforce the significance of upholding the rules and regulations set forth by their respective countries.

The actions of the seven CSGO players who failed to return to Ukraine following the BLAST Paris Major have raised concerns and sparked discussions within the esports community. The repercussions they may face for violating travel laws are yet to be determined. As the situation unfolds, it serves as a sobering reminder of the responsibilities athletes bear and the impact their actions can have on their careers and the reputation of their country.

BGMI’s Conditional Return

The return of Battlegrounds Mobile India comes with certain conditions set by the Government of India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). This initial phase will serve as a three-month trial approval period during which the government will closely monitor the game’s operations.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Union Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, Skill Development, Electronics & Technology, disclosed that the three-month period will determine whether the game can make a permanent comeback.

This trial phase offers players the opportunity to experience new content, including features from the global variant, PUBG Mobile. However, it is important to acknowledge that certain censorship measures might be implemented in Battlegrounds Mobile India to address concerns related to user harm and addiction. Reports also suggest that the game might witness a reduction in gore and blood following its unban.

Kai Cenat denies “scamming” accusations

Popular Twitch streamer Kai Cenat has strictly denied allegations of scamming made by a group of individuals who had agreed to provide content ideas for his Subathon stream.

The allegations surfaced by a Twitter user named LC who exposed a thread on May 25, featuring screenshots from a Discord channel dating back to February where it displayed an offer made by a user named Dremo who claims to be working for Kai Cenat and was an individual to contribute content ideas for Kai’s subathon.

Dremo welcomed the ideas and said that the payout will be on a weekly basis from Kai’s end once the work is done. The ideas were to be provided on a Google sheet and for obvious reasons there were a significant number of entries.

Dremo made everyone hopeful saying “I need a team of people who are serious about wanting to make something in the content space,” and “I’m 17 and projected to make 3.6m a year off internet money this year.” but did not pay anything stating  “[Kai] is not paying y’all need to move on.”.

Kai quickly leveled said allegations stating he did not use any of the ideas and that content was completely his own doing. He said “Listen, [LC], I feel bad. One, I got to see the list of ideas. Two, I feel bad for y’all, so I got to get down to the situation, get dremo’s side, get y’all side. And if y’all put work in, I’ll make sure y’all good. But chat, did I scam them? No!”

Even though LC claims Kai has used their ideas, marking them with green in the Google sheet screenshot, Kai denies using any. The debate as of now remains at a stalemate and it will be interesting to see how the situation matures.
