Riot Games Takes Aim at Valorant Toxicity With Enhanced Voice Chat Moderation

0

Riot Games, the developer behind the popular tactical shooter game Valorant, has recently made headlines with its firm stance against in-game harassment. Following a series of disturbing incidents where players, particularly women and queer individuals, were subjected to verbal abuse, the company has laid out a comprehensive plan to address the issue and foster a safer gaming environment.

The issue of harassment in Valorant is not isolated. Across the gaming industry, players have long faced toxicity in voice and text chat, which can significantly impact their gaming experience. Anna Donlon, the head of Valorant at Riot Games, has acknowledged the gravity of the situation and the company’s responsibility to protect its players

Riot’s Response to Recent Incidents

In response to the viral clips showcasing harassment, Riot Games has announced a series of measures aimed at curbing such behavior. Donlon has emphasized that while Riot has made efforts to control toxic behavior, their systems are not foolproof and require continuous improvement.

Upcoming Policy Updates and Penalties

Riot Games plans to update its policies within the next 30 days to impose stronger and faster penalties for severe misconduct, including hate speech, severe sexual content, and threats of violence. The company will introduce a range of actions and penalties, such as temporary and permanent bans, and in extreme cases, hardware bans for the most egregious offenders.

To ensure effective enforcement, Riot is bolstering the teams responsible for manually reviewing reports of abuse. Additionally, the rollout of Riot’s voice evaluation system will be expanded to more regions, allowing for better monitoring and action against violators.

Riot will conduct a one-time review of the top suspected offenders from the previous competitive Act in Valorant and issue appropriate penalties. The company is also exploring new technologies, such as machine learning and voice-to-text transcription, to detect violations over voice chat.

Donlon has urged the Valorant community to continue reporting toxic behavior and to use the Muted Words List to filter out unwanted content. Riot Games has updated its Privacy Notice and Terms of Service to allow for the recording and evaluation of voice communications when a disruptive behavior report is submitted.

Riot Games is committed to taking a proactive approach to player safety, with plans to introduce more comprehensive strategies in the future. Donlon remains hopeful that these steps will make Valorant a safer space for all players.

Riot Games is taking decisive action to combat in-game harassment in Valorant. By updating policies, enhancing review systems, and exploring new technologies, the company aims to create a gaming environment where respect and safety are paramount. As these plans unfold, the gaming community watches with anticipation, hopeful for a future where everyone can enjoy the game without fear of abuse.

Tyler1 launches Backseat AI Tool For League Of Legends: Hilarious Help or Toxic Trainwreck?

Renowned Twitch streamer Tyler1 has introduced an AI advisory bot, designed to coach players in real-time with his own distinctive voice and personality. This AI bot, known for its lewd and toxic demeanor, mirrors Tyler1’s own controversial persona.

Real-Time Coaching with a Twist

The AI bot, which Tyler1 has launched, is not just a static guide but an interactive coach that responds to player queries on the fly. Imagine asking, “Hey Tyler, what should I build?” and getting a response in the streamer’s characteristic brash style: “F*** it! Greedy start with Long Sword. We’re rushing Kraken Slayer.” This level of real-time interaction is a step forward in AI-assisted gaming.

Mixed Reactions from the Community

The community’s reception of Tyler1’s AI bot is as varied as the characters in LoL itself. While some players are thrilled at the prospect of having Tyler1’s virtual presence as their gaming companion, others are skeptical about the bot’s potential success. Comments on Reddit, such as “Wait, please don’t tell me his AI is just ChatGPT with a slight Tyler1 personality on it… it’s going to go so wrong if that’s all it is,” reflect the concerns of those who doubt the bot’s viability.

Tyler1’s AI bot, dubbed Backseat AI, is set to be available in a basic version for free, with plans to include other content creators’ voices in the future. This suggests a broader vision for personalized AI coaching in gaming, although specific names have yet to be attached to the project.

The introduction of Tyler1’s AI bot is part of a larger trend where AI is increasingly being woven into the fabric of gaming and livestreaming. From Microsoft’s AI advisor in Minecraft to Amouranth’s AI bot girlfriend service, the integration of AI is reshaping the gaming experience.

Tyler1’s foray into AI-driven coaching with his own AI bot is a bold move that has garnered both excitement and skepticism. As the gaming industry continues to embrace AI, it remains to be seen how this particular venture will play out. Will Tyler1’s AI bot become a staple in the LoL community, or will it be, as some Reddit users predict, “Dead on arrival”? Only time will tell.

As the gaming community awaits the release of Backseat AI, the anticipation builds. Whether it becomes a hit or a miss, Tyler1’s AI bot is a testament to the ever-evolving intersection of AI technology and the gaming world.

Destiny 2 Collaborates with Dungeons & Dragons Cosmetics in New Crossover

Live service video games are constantly evolving, and one of the most exciting developments is the fusion of different worlds through crossovers. Destiny 2, the popular online multiplayer shooter, is embracing this trend with a groundbreaking collaboration with Wizards of the Coast, the company behind the iconic role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons (D&D).

Destiny 2’s Epic Crossover with Dungeons & Dragons

On June 4th, Destiny 2 will unveil a new collection of armor cosmetics in the Eververse store, inspired by the fantastical elements of Dungeons & Dragons. Players can look forward to equipping their characters with the Apex Draconic set for Titans, the Spectral Displacer set for Hunters, and the Flayer’s Dominion set for Warlocks, each set reflecting the rich lore and aesthetic of D&D.

More Than Just Armor: The Adventurer’s Pack Bundles

The collaboration goes beyond armor, offering the Adventurer’s pack bundles that include the majestic Queen of Dragons ship, the Owlbear Chariot Sparrow, and the Eye Tyrant Ghost shell. Additionally, players can express themselves with the Bigby’s Fist finisher and the Natural 20 emote, further immersing them in the D&D experience.

A Critical Moment for Bungie

The D&D crossover is timed with the release of Destiny 2’s expansion, The Final Shape, also launching on June 4th. This expansion is a pivotal moment for Bungie, as it could determine the future trajectory of the game. The stakes are high, and the community is eager to see if The Final Shape will live up to expectations.

New Content and Features

The Final Shape expansion is set to introduce a plethora of new content, including missions, locations, maps, gear, weaponry, and a new raid. Players will explore the Pale Heart within the Traveler, encounter the new enemy race called the Dread, and experience new Light-based supers for each Guardian class. The expansion will also see the return of exotic class items and significant changes to the Power level system, weapon enhancements, and the player’s HUD and user interface.

Episodes

Bungie is also introducing a new content delivery model with Episodes, which will replace the seasonal model used since the Forsaken expansion. These Episodes will focus on different enemy races, providing ongoing content and narrative development.

How to get the Destiny 2 x D&D bundle

Destiny 2: The Final Shape will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Players can choose from various editions, including the standard expansion, an Annual Pass with all three Episodes, and a Collector’s Edition with additional content.

The Final Shape is not the end of the road for Destiny 2. Bungie has plans to continue the story beyond this expansion, ensuring that the universe of Destiny 2 remains vibrant and engaging for players around the world.

In conclusion, the collaboration between Destiny 2 and Dungeons & Dragons marks a significant moment in the world of live service games, blending the thrill of a shooter with the imagination of a role-playing game. As players gear up to explore The Final Shape, the excitement is palpable, and the future of Destiny 2 looks brighter than ever.

Destiny Arrives Early, as Sony Accidentally Leaks Destiny 2: The Final Shape DLC Content

Thanos must be agitated about the title, but we don’t care. Guardians, destiny will arrive & this time, it arrived earlier than usual. Entropy stuck the Destiny 2 community earlier when upcoming “The Final Shape” expansion details were leaked online. Sony granted players a premature sight into the content, weapons, armor, raid mechanics & even spoiled the key plot points.

Who leaked it?

Reports suggest that the leak is linked to PS5’s streaming service. While the lens on the exact details remains blurry, certain players got unhindered access to a significant section of the upcoming expansion, resulting in unrest across social platforms.

Clean up on aisle 4

Bungie and Sony had yet to officially comment on what just happened earlier but were prompt with their housekeeping and took down the faulty servers to stop any more damage infliction than what had already been done.

At the time of writing, there was an update from Bungie acknowledging how Destiny 2: The Final Shape was accidentally pushed to production early today, granting players unplanned access to the expansion content.

Destiny 2 The Final Shape

That one annoying spoiler master friend

Yes, we are talking about how to avoid spoilers. And about that annoying friend, this can help.

“Earlier today, a portion of Destiny 2: The Final Shape was accidentally pushed live on PS5’s streaming service,” Bungie said in its statement.

“There are currently spoilers being shared online. A small group of players was able to play some of the campaign, access Collections, and other reward info coming in The Final Shape, and Echoes.” Bungie was warning the community to stay vigilant & avoid spoilers to retain the euphoria of experiencing the content for the first time for the ones in the dark.

The Final Shape is the final page in the 10-year-long book for Destiny, which made its debutant launch in 2014. The DLC is said to be the conclusion of one saga of the series and the beginning of the next, so its storyline is sure to carry some gravitas.

“It’s always extremely difficult when our team’s hard work is leaked early, but we are still excited for everyone to experience the full release on June 4 together,” Bungie said.

The ray of sunshine in the storm

There seems to be a ray of hope though. Despite the leaks, the hype seems to have been amped up even more with more people discussing the game now than ever. If and when Bungie delivers on its promise of quality content for the expansion, we think this setback will have been forgotten by then.

How to Change Race Length in F1 24

0

If you do not feel like running the whole race, then F1 24 gives you the option to change race lengths. However, changing the race length also changes some other settings. Let’s take a look at how to change the race length setting and what gets affected by it.

How to change race length in F1 24?

You need to enter a race session before you can edit the race length. You can enter a race session by entering Career mode, My Team, or Grand Prix in F1 World. Here you need to go to Weekend Structure.

F1 24

In Weekend Structure you get the ability to change the race length and enable or disable practice and qualifying sessions. If you are a fan of the sprint race then you can add it here. It is important to note that the race length cannot be changed once the race weekend has started. Let’s check out all the race lengths offered by F1 24:

  • 3-lap
  • 5-lap
  • 25%
  • 35%
  • 50%
  • 100%

As mentioned earlier, some other settings also get affected by changing the race length. When you set the race length to 3-lap or 5-lap, the pit stop, safety car, and red flags get disabled automatically and cannot be enabled. For all other race lengths, you can customize the pit stop, safety car, and red flags settings.

That is all on how to change race length in F1 24.
