Indian BGMI Esports fans finally have a reason to celebrate. After three long years away from the global arena, India is officially back on the world stage of PUBG Mobile esports. Two teams, Orangutan and True Rippers, will represent the country at the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2025 in Thailand.
This appearance ends a drought that began after GodLike Esports competed in PMGC 2021. Since then, India waited patiently for its next shot at the world championship, and 2025 has finally delivered.
Orangutan Leads India’s Comeback at Global Championship
The spotlight is firmly on Orangutan, who will enter the high-stakes Gauntlet Stage, starting 24 November 2025. This is the first stage of PMGC 2025 and features some of the strongest teams from across the globe.
Orangutan enters the event with a roster that has dominated Indian esports this year. Under the leadership of star IGL Aaru, the squad includes a powerful trio of assaulters — Akop, WizzGod, and Attanki. Their 2025 run has been nothing short of exceptional:
- Champions of BMSD 2025
- Champions of iQOO Battlegrounds Series 2025
- 3rd place at BGIS 2025 Kolkata LAN
With momentum, experience, and confidence on their side, Orangutan will aim to push India back into the global spotlight. Meanwhile, True Rippers will take their place in the Group Stage, giving India two strong chances to impress on the world platform.
