Epic Games is introducing one of cinema’s most iconic revenge tales to its battle royale, as Quentin Tarantino’s seminal Kill Bill franchise makes its debut in Fortnite Chapter 7. The collaboration represents a landmark moment for the game, combining blockbuster filmmaking with interactive gaming in ways that exceed the usual promotional tie-ins.
Teased for months through a series of strategic hints from Epic Games, this crossover was announced at a star-studded Chapter 7 premiere event in Los Angeles that Tarantino and Kill Bill star Uma Thurman both attended. The crossover begins on November 30 with the launch of Chapter 7, just days before the December 5 theatrical re-release of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, a newly edited version that combines both films into a single four-hour narrative.
The crossover introduces three playable skins: Beatrix Kiddo (The Bride), Gogo Yubari, and, most interestingly, Yuki Yubari character exclusively existing in Tarantino’s original script. Yuki is the embodiment of lost cinema finding life within gaming. The character was penned for the 2003 film but never filmed. Instead of a theatrical re-release, Tarantino opted to introduce the world to Yuki via Fortnite’s standalone short film titled Yuki’s Revenge, perfectly stitching an unproduced scene into Fortnite’s ongoing narrative.
Most creatively, perhaps, the iconic yellow Chevy Silverado, the “Pussy Wagon,” has been transformed into the “Meow Wagon,” featuring Fortnite’s character Meowscle instead of explicit branding, cleverly adapting the vehicle’s recognizable silhouette for a younger audience.
Kill Bill’s impact on pop culture, coupled with Tarantino’s known meticulous creative involvement, makes this much more than merchandise. The Bride featured heavily in Chapter 6’s Zero Hour live event finale; the leaked dialogue from that event confirmed she had active lines, making her a participant in the season-closing spectacular. Her voice commands will play during the intense combat sequences, placing her firmly in Fortnite’s reality-warping narrative.
