FURIA Secure Champions Stage Spot With Win Over Entropiq

0

FURIA becomes the third team after Natus Vincere and G2 to book a spot at the Aviici Arena for the Playoffs of the PGL Major. The win comes after an early loss to Astralis set them to 0-1, but they bounced back vs Mouz, domestic rivals Liquid and now Entropiq to make it to the top 8. This would also mean that ‘VINI’ and ‘drop’ would get their first Player Autographs, alongside ‘B1T’ from NaVi.

Entropiq can still qualify, if they win their final best of 3 against a team who also goes 2-2 in the New Legends Stage of the Major. FURIA are now the only team from NA to make it to the playoffs after EG was eliminated yesterday by Vitality and FaZe eliminated Team Liquid today.

The game itself was a drawn out affair in terms of no. of maps. Both the teams traded each other’s map picks, by a comfortable margin and had to battle it out on Ancient as they decider.

FURIA ran Entropiq ragged when they were on the CT side as the Russians couldnt handle the all around aggression and brilliant anchoring from ‘VINI’. With an 11-4 half FURIA cruised to a map win 16-6, losing just 2 rounds in the process as VINI racked up 27 kills and just 9 deaths.

Nuke started off close as well, with 7 T rounds for FURIA to Entropiq’s 8. But the floodgates opened as soon as the CIS roster got to the T side. ‘Krad’ and ‘Lack1’s duo made it easy for them to get onto bombsites and good mid round calling from ‘Nickelback’ helped them get 8 rounds with ease as they won out  the game 16-8.

Ancient was a more brawly affair, as at first FURIA seemed to run away with it. Entropiq’s T side was flat and they couldnt get past ‘yuurih’ on the B bombsite. They registered just 6 rounds as the half ended 6-9 in FURIA’s favour.

FURIA got off to a wonderful start, with 5 rounds on the trot to put them up14-6. A magnificent 1v4 from ‘yuurih’ with the AWP hyped them up even more as they looked set for a blow out once again.

But Entropiq didnt back down so easily and brought back 5 rounds, and then another 2 to bring it to 15-12.

‘VINI’ the hero of Vertigo, came back with another 1v3 clutch to take his team to the playoffs, as the last remaining team from NA, and also the last 5 Brazilians at the PGL major.

NaVi Secure Top 8 at PGL Major with Win Over NiP

Natus Vincere becomes the second team after G2 to secure their place in the Top 8 of the PGL Major. The win comes after a flawless 2-0 run yesterday in Bo1 and a swift 2-0 in a Bo3 over NiP. They beat the Swedes 16-9 on Nuke as well on Overpass to confirm their spot.

NiP still have 2 more chances to qualify for the playoffs as they currently sit 2-1 in the New Legends Stage.

MAP VETO

1. Natus Vincere removed Vertigo

2. NIP removed Mirage

3. Natus Vincere picked Nuke

4. NIP picked Overpass

5. NIP removed Dust2

6. Natus Vincere removed Inferno

7. Ancient was left over

MAP 1 : Natus Vincere 16-9 Ninjas in Pyjamas

Nuke started off in a very one sided affair with NaVi taking home the first 7 rounds on the trot. NiP then hit back with 6 of their own, to keep the #1 team in check and they did it very well by closing down ‘s1mple’ and ‘electronic’

After an 8-7 half NaVi lost the pistol too and it evened out the score. But that is when the ‘s1mple’ show began. THE BEST Nuke CT sided player, agreed upon by everyone who watches CS put on a masterful performance as he went 16-3 on the CT side as NaVi went on a 7 round streak again. NiP had only 2 T rounds and NaVi rolled over them comfortably.

MAP 2 : Natus Vincere 16-9 Ninjas in Pyajamas

NaVi’s overpass has been the centre of criticism in recent times as they havent been as dominant on it in recent memory so the Ninjas went with a punish pick. But it worked out as well as it did for VP yesterday with ‘electronic’ and ‘b1t’ locking down the sites this time to give the CIS squad and 11-4 lead at half time.

The T side looked shaky as ever, as they allowed NiP to cut down the lead to just 3  rounds but ‘s1mple’ and ‘B1T’ gave them the entries they needed to get to 16 easily, as they closed the map 16-9.

NaVi have now booked a top 8 spot at the first Major in 2 years and will play their next game in the Champions Stage from 4th October 2021.

NiP will play another team from the 2-1 bracket in a Bo3 for another chance at getting to the major.

FURIA Outdo Team Liquid at PGL Major Legends Stage Day 2

The Brazilians proved too much to handle for the NA boys as FURIA further improved their chances of making playoffs with a 2-1 score currently. They just need to win 1 more Bo3 to cement their place at the Avicii Arena.

Liquid meanwhile needs to think over things again as even a small hiccup could see them out of the Major so early.

MAP VETO

1. Liquid removed Nuke

2. Liquid removed Ancient

3. FURIA removed Dust2

4. FURIA removed Overpass

5. FURIA removed Vertigo

6. Liquid removed Mirage

7. Inferno was leftover

Both teams decided to play Inferno, having performed decently on it in recent times. Liquid lost the pistol but had a streak of 6 rounds in reply, courtesy of Jonathan ‘EliGE’ Jablonowski as he found openings on both bombsites to give his side an early advantage.

FURIA kept it close at the end and only allowed them 1 round more as they rounded out the half 8-7 in their favor.

FURIA then turned the tide in the best way possible, as new addition Andre ‘drop’ Abreu found entries on the B site with relative ease.

Working with a man advantage so early, FURIA closed the map out in a comfortable fashion as they lost just 2 rounds on the T side, 16-9.

FURIA are one win away from playoffs, alongside Heroic, Copenhagen Flames and Gambit while Team Liquid are one loss away from bombing out, alongside FaZe Clan, Astralis and Virtus.pro.

Gambit Made to Sweat vs Virtus.pro On Day 2 of Legends Stage at PGL Major

Gambit barely scraped through on Vertigo vs CIS rivals Virtus.pro in the 1-1 Bracket at the Legends Stage of the PGL Major. They trailed most of the game until the 28th round, where all the members came alive for the 2nd best team of 2021. Up until that point it was only Abay ‘hobbit’ Khasenov who had been leading the lines in the fragging department, after a miserable start to the second half.

MAP VETO

1. Virtus.pro removed Ancient

2. Virtus.pro removed Overpass

3. Gambit removed Inferno

4. Gambit removed Mirage

5. Gambit removed Dust2

6. Virtus.pro removed Nuke

7. Vertigo was left over

Virtus.pro interestingly decided to play Vertigo, after they decided not to veto Nuke, thinking Gambit would but they didn’t either leaving VP in a sticky situation. They had to opt for Gambit’s best map, Vertigo.

Gambit received a shock loss vs Entropiq yesterday, where they couldn’t post a single T side round and lost all the 10 rounds of the half. Today was different as they started with a pistol win. VP went on a streak of their own after the first 2 but that was quickly remedied by veteran and Major winner ‘hobbit’. His impact kills on the A ramp secured a much needed 8 rounds on the T side as Gambit switched to the T side.

After winning the pistol, Gambit lost all the team as a team once up 11-8 was down 11-14 and with the economy against them. VP had great executes on both the sites and with a player always lurking MID it was a huge nuisance for Gambit.

It wasnt until round 26 that Gambit turned up the heat, with IGL Vladislav ‘nafany’ Gorshkov locking down the A ramp alongside AWPer ‘sh1ro’. Gambit went on a streak of 5 to close the map 16-14. Hobbit stood out with a massive 39 kills in 30 rounds and 118.5 ADR.

Gambit are up 2-1 alongside Copenhagen Flames and will play their next game tomorrow against another opponent uo 2-1. VP are down 1-2 and all of their games will be Bo3 elimination matches, i.e. if they lose theyre out of the Major.

ASHE’S ABILITIES

Frost Shot (Passive) – Attacks and damaging abilities slow targets hit for a few seconds. Attacks against enemies slowed by Frost Shot deal bonus damage. Ashe’s critical strikes do not deal extra damage. Instead, they increase Frost Shot’s slow. Ashe does not do the best in terms of damage, but is great in terms of crowd control and helping your team kill the enemies.

Ranger’s Focus – Passive: When this ability is inactive, Ashe’s basic attacks on-attack against non-structures will grant Focus stacks. The duration is refreshed on structure attacks and stacks are lost by one every second.

Active: Ashe gains bonus Attack Speed and causes her auto-attacks to fire a flurry of five arrows. They trigger on-hit effects only once and they deal modified physical damage.

Volley – Ashe fires a volley of arrows in a cone in the target direction. All of them deal physical damage to the first enemy struck and slows them. Enemies won’t take damage from arrows beyond the first one.

Hawkshot – Fires a hawk spirit that can travel infinitely far and briefly reveals units it flies over. You can also recast the ability as it’s flying and Hawkshot explodes, granting vision of the area around it for a few seconds. Units caught in the initial explosion are revealed for a longer time.

Enchanted Crystal Arrow – Ashe launches a crystal arrow of ice that stuns the first champion hit dealing magic damage to all nearby enemies. The stun increases with the distance of the arrow’s flight.

In Wild Rift, you can re-cast the ability but holding the button to steer the arrow’s flight path. The arrow can only deviate from its original launch angle by a fixed amount but it’s still really effective. You can also tap the cancel button to stop steering.
