The FURIA offence fell flat as Vitality ran away with the second half to quickly close the game with a 13-8 scoreline, levelling the series.

Starting strong on defence, Vitality kicked off stunningly with a 9-0 start before FURIA could even see a round. FUIRA got back to their winning ways after converting the pistol in the second half, only for Vitality to grab back control of the game with the first proper gun round. Making B the prime focus for the FURIA side, Vitality had little to no issues in stopping the rushes and executed as if they had a read for everything the Brazilians had in store for them. After a bit of back-and-forth by the end of the second half, ZyWoo 4K put Vitality on series point, and another 4K put Vitality over the line to win back-to-back IEM Karkow, with him posting his best performance of 2026 on one of the most prestigious stages of Counter-Strike.

The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has officially announced that chess will be included as a competitive title in the upcoming Esports Nations Cup (ENC) 2026. The strategy game joins a lineup of 16 titles for the nation-based tournament scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, later this year.

The chess competition is set to run from November 2 to November 8, 2026. This inclusion marks a significant step for the game as it continues to integrate into the broader esports ecosystem following its successful debut at the Esports World Cup in 2025.

Tournament Format and Structure

The event will feature a substantial field of 128 players representing their respective nations. The competition will begin with a round-robin group stage consisting of 16 groups, each containing eight players.

The top four competitors from each group will advance to the second stage of the tournament. This subsequent phase will function as a single-elimination playoff bracket featuring 64 players.

Matches during the group stage and the initial rounds of the playoffs will be played as best-of-two series. Starting from the quarterfinals, the intensity will increase with matches shifting to a best-of-four format.

All games will be played under a Rapid 10+0 time control format. In the event of ties, Armageddon games will be utilized as tie-breakers to determine the winner.

Qualification Pathways

Players will secure their spots in the Esports Nations Cup through three distinct methods. A total of 64 players will receive direct invitations based on the official Champions Chess Tour (CCT) rankings. These direct invites are limited to one player per nation.

For countries without a direct invitee, or to fill the second representative slot, 56 players will qualify through regional qualifiers. The remaining eight spots will be filled through Wildcard invitations.

The deadline for determining direct invites based on rankings is May 26, 2026. If the CCT rankings do not feature 64 unique nations, the Titled Tuesday Spring Split will serve as an additional tie-breaker.

Regional Qualifiers

Rules and Eligibility Criteria

Garena has laid down clear and strict eligibility rules to ensure fair competition. All participants must meet the following conditions to take part in the qualifiers.

  • Players must be Indian citizens
  • Players must be at least 16 years old on the match day
  • Players aged between 16 and 18 years must submit parental or guardian consent
  • Each player must have a minimum Diamond rank in Free Fire MAX
  • Players must be Level 48 or above
  • Teams must consist of 4 to 5 players only
  • All matches will be played exclusively in FFC Mode
  • Each team can play a maximum of 12 matches
  • Only the best 8 matches will be counted for final rankings
  • Players cannot represent more than one team
  • Multiple accounts are strictly not allowed
  • Roster changes are not permitted once matches are played
  • Teams must disband before playing any match if they want to change players
  • Cheating, hacking, or unfair practices will result in immediate disqualification

Garena has also warned that discipline during matches is crucial, as penalties can significantly affect standings.

Point System Explained

The In-Game Qualifiers follow a placement-based scoring system, along with elimination points. Teams earn points based on their final placement in each match, while every elimination adds extra value.

First place teams receive the highest points, followed by gradual reduction in points for lower placements. Additionally, each elimination earns 1 point, making aggressive gameplay equally important.

If any player leaves the spawn island early, a penalty of minus 3 points per player will be applied, which can heavily impact the overall score.

How Teams Qualify from FFMIC 2026 In-Game Qualifiers

After all matches are completed and scores are calculated based on the best 8 games, the top 38 teams from the In-Game Qualifiers will move forward to the FFMIC 2026 Spring Group Stage.

These teams will later compete alongside city-qualified teams and invited squads, making the next stage even more competitive and intense.
