Jay “sinatraa” Won, a former Overwatch pro and star of Valorant, will return in 2023, but not for Sentinels.

Following a two-year sabbatical, sinatraa, formerly the Sentinels’ primary initiator, is getting ready to return to the pro Valorant scene. After sexual assault charges surfaced in May 2021, the popular streamer and professional player was banned from Valorant events.

According to Connor “PROD” Mora, sinatraa is ready to continue up where he left off after a two-year hiatus. Sinatraa is presently a free agent in the professional Valorant circuit, though he does frequently stream Valorant on Twitch.

Following abuse claims made by ex-girlfriend Cleo “cle0h” Hernandez in 2021, sinatraa was transferred to the Sentinels’ bench. Sentinels had to replace sinatraa with Tyson “TenZ” Ngo when he was banned from VCT competitions.

However, sinatraa declared his comeback to competition in April 2022, stating that he wanted to play Valorant at the professional level for the Sentinels again.

Sinatraa is bound to make his comeback with Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen, Jared “zombs” Gitlin, treamer Coby “dizzy” Meadows and PROD. While sinatraa just retweeted the news, it hasn’t done much to convince gamers. He may return to the competition after serving his suspension.

In the past there have been several top tier organizations who tried to sign him in but failed due to the stigma of the lawsuit which revolved around him.

Whether sinatraa’s return is for real this time can only be determined by the passage of time. Before he was sidelined, sinatraa was regarded as the best initiator in the history of North American Valorant scene.

If PROD’s statement isn’t merely bait, though, his freedom of choice in employment may not remain forever. The North American streamer claims that sinatraa is making his professional debut once again after first hinting at his return in April of last year.

PROD has revealed that the first tournament Sinatraa would feature in will be the North American Challengers Last Chance Qualifier which runs from January 17-22. With the above report, his return is inevitable and this time, he might genuinely bounce back into the professional scene.
