Astralis CS:GO bench coach, reports suggests more changes to the team

As of right now, CS:GO coach Martin "trace" Heldt has been removed from his position with Astralis.

Trace has been removed from active duty, according to a statement released by the Danish company, “with additional organizational adjustments and upgrades to come on [sic] and around the team.”

The first time trace was put to the test was during ESL Pro League Season 15, where they made it all the way to the quarterfinals. However, their performance at the Major was not quite as impressive, as they were eliminated at the Challengers Stage in Belgium. Since then, Astralis reached the semifinals of the IEM Cologne 2022, but the team has had a difficult time competing for trophies overall.

Astralis’ recent exit from European RMR of the upcoming IEM Rio Major 2022 has indeed forced the team back to the drawing board.

The Astralis Talent coach Peter “casle” Ardenskjold has been given the responsibility of temporarily leading the team in the absence of trace while the management continues their search for a more permanent replacement.

“A brand new path is currently being mapped out for the squad and the organization that revolves around it. The present head coach of the first team, Martin “trace” Heldt, has been removed from his position and will no longer be accountable for the primary squad while additional steps are to be implemented over the course of the next few weeks.

Nicolai “device” Reedtz to make a return to Astralis

Jaxon made the announcement on October 3 that Ninjas in Pyjamas and Astralis have reached an agreement regarding the transfer of Nicolai “device” Reedtz. Reedtz was believed to have begun negotiations with Astralis.

Jaxon claims that a deal between Astralis and device has not been finalized just yet, but that Astralis continues to be device’s first priority.

After being involved in a fight in Malta and sustaining an injury, Astralis announced this week that Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke will be leaving the team and retiring from competitive esports.

The new Astralis is not going to look anything like the one that suffered so much during the previous season due to the addition of a new coach and the potential departure of two players.
