Ford launches its own esports virtual racing teams

American automaker giant Ford introduced their own esports racing team in partnership with Microsoft named Fordzilla. The announcement was made during Ford’s conference in Gamescom 2019 currently ongoing in Germany.

Fordzilla is one of its kind, as it is the world’s first esports team that is directly owned and operated by any automaker. According to press release, Fordzilla will mainly compete in Forza Motorsport 7, but Ford has plans to announce more racing titles in which the team will be competing in near future.
Fordzilla will act as an independent department which will operate and maintain all esports racing teams for Ford.

Fordzilla will be recruiting top esports drivers for teams in multiple countries such as France, Germany, Italy, Spain and UK. Star players from each team will be invited to form a European national team.
Fordzilla has already started with the recruit process for teams. They are currently recruiting members in Gamescom 2019.
