Olofmeister set to return, to consider pursuing Valorant as well

After a two month break from professional Counter Strike, Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer is all set to return to the competitive scene.

A former member of Fnatic, Olof signed for FaZe Clan in 2017 and most notably helped the team to first-place finishes at the ESL One New York’17, ECS Season 4 Finals followed by two championships at the Blast Pro series in 2019.

He went on a hiatus until October 2020, chose to once again step in for FaZe after he was poised to fill in the void left by Nikola “NiKo“ Kovac on the active roster.

Earlier in February, he decided to call it quits on his Counter-Strike career after he experienced fatigue but praised the game to be among his favorites.

A day ago, the 29-year-old Swede was spotted streaming Valorant on his Twitch Channel where he further revealed his plans to come back from retirement and compete in the professional scene.

From his stream, upon being asked by one of his viewers about his recent retirement phase, he did reveal having received offers to post his announcement but they were ultimately declined as he never knew what’s next and didn’t want to risk while feeling the same.

It’s still unclear whether he would continue competing in Counter-Strike or take up Valorant as his primary expertise. On the stream as well, he never ruled out the probability of him pursuing Valorant as he would first assess his options from that of CSGO. In April he reportedly tried for Fnatic’s Valorant division but there had been no follow-ups regarding the same.

Currently, he sits on the bench of FaZe Clan while he evaluates his options, going forward in the scene.
