Over the course of 2020, YouTuber ‘Dream’ found himself rising in the ranks among the most popular Minecraft YouTubers, and is currently standing at the top of the charts with a subscriber count of a whopping 21.7 million. While the star was involved in a number of controversies, his popularity continued to spike steadily over the past year.

A few days ago, Dream’s friend and popular content creator Karl Jacobs was under fire from fans for his controversial association with former (now banned) Twitch streamer Ice Poseidon. The 22-year-old explained his point of view through a Twitch stream, and later elaborated on it through a Twitlonger.

Amid this controversy, Dream responded to a Tweet by another fellow streamer Tyler ‘Trainwrecks’ Niknam calling to “teach and correct mistakes.”

“How you respond and grow from mistakes you’ve made is what should define you, not your mistakes,” Dream said in his reply.

A few hours later, Dream elaborated his thoughts on the matter in a Tweet.

“Every single person on earth is uneducated before they’re educated,” Dream said. “That’s how educating exists. You had to be taught to be gentle with animals when you were a kid, and be taught what words were hurtful and what words weren’t, and be taught manners and how to treat people with respect. “

“Mistakes that you make now are documented forever on the internet, and things that in the past before the internet would have been learning experiences can now very quickly spiral into something much bigger,” he said.

“Words can be helpful, words can be reassuring, words can be insightful, and words can be necessary, but at the end of the day, remember that not everyone is as good with words as others,” he explained further. “Don’t be manipulated by a forked tongue, but also don’t confuse a normal one for a forked one because of a stutter.”

While Dream has emphasized that the post isn’t directly relevant to the situation of Karl Jacobs, a lot of fans seem to be thinking otherwise.
