Counter-Strike Legends Join India and Pakistan’s Top Teams at Blast Draft 2024

The Blast Draft for South East Asia has generated quite the buzz among the fans of Counter-Strike as we find some of the biggest names in the history of the esport find themselves playing for the best teams of the region. The 3 days long tournament will have six legends going to six teams across Indian and Pakistani CS2 teams.

The legends invited to the event have been some of the most iconic players to grace the game. Former FaZe Clan duo olofmeister and legendary sniper guardiaN along with NIP legends GeT_RighT and friberg and finally the French duo KennyS and shox. While most of the names have been out of top-flight CS for a long time, they have kept in touch with the game through streaming and brief stints with lesser-known teams.

GuardiaN has been out of the headlines ever since his unimpressive second stint with NAVI and since then he remained out of the tier-1 competitions but continued to be a part of the community through streaming. The Slovak will play for God’s Regin in The Draft. His FaZe Clan teammate Olof will be playing for the Pakistani side Team WahWah.

The legendary French duo of Shox and KennyS will be playing for Marchos Gaming and True Rippers. KennyS has been out of top-flight CS since his move away from G2 while Shox did not enjoy playing for English-speaking teams which ended up in a failed stint with Liquid Gaming.

GeT_RighT and Friberg were two of the most loved players in the history of the game will play for Come Mid and Pak Boyz respectively. The Swedish duo has been out of touch for the longest time but their stint with NiP during the formative years of CSGO lives in the hearts of fans rent-free.

New Counter Strike 2 Update Adds First CS2 Weapon Case, Music Kits, Arms Race Mode, & More

On February 6, 2024, Valve released a huge update for their popular competitive shooter, Counter Strike 2, fulfilling the fervent wishes of countless CS2 enthusiasts who had been eagerly anticipating this moment for weeks. The update brought with it not only a new case, but also a new game mode, new music kits, custom sticker placements, and a lot more.

Let’s take a moment to check out everything new that the latest Counter Strike 2 update has introduced to the title.

New CS2 Update: What’s New?

While the wait for the first CS2 Operation continues, the amount of content introduced to the game with the new update doesn’t fall much shorter of it.

Arms Race Mode

For starters, the Arms Race game mode has been added to CS2 with the new update. It was previously a game mode in CS:GO, but wasn’t present in CS2 at the time of its launch.

The Arms Race game mode pits players in a free-for-all deathmatch where they need to score two kills with a particular weapon to get a different one. The first player to work their way up to the knife stage and get the final kill is declared the winner.

Custom Sticker Placements

The second major addition that the new CS2 update has brought alongside it is custom sticker placements. Moving forward, players will be able to drag, drop, and even rotate the stickers that they place on their weapons to get the ideal sticker placement.

New Weapon Case

The Kilowatt Case marks the debut weapon case in CS2, boasting finishes for 18 weapons. It introduces the game to a new knife, the Kukri Knife, and features the first-ever skin for the Zeus x27.

Stickers and Music Kits

But that’s not all, the February 6th update also adds six new music kits to the game under the NIGHTMODE Music Kit Box alongside the Ambush Sticker Capsule featuring 21 community-created stickers. Players will be able to buy these from the in-game shop.

XP Overload

Once you’ve earned all the normal weekly XP and transitioned to reduced XP gain, an XP Overload icon will appear next to your name in your profile, on the scoreboard, and in the kill-feed. As you maintain your XP-earning streak each week, your XP Overload icon will progressively upgrade.

G2 makes it to the IEM Katowice playoffs beating Heroic

Despite a rocky start to the campaign, G2 Esports has managed to book a spot in the playoffs of the IEM Katowice beating Heroic in 2-0 fashion. NiKo and co. have made it to Spodek as they look to defend the trophy they won dominantly right at the twilight of CSGO.

Veto:

  • Heroic removed Inferno
  • G2 removed Mirage
  • Heroic picked Vertigo
  • G2 picked Nuke
  • Heroic removed Anubis
  • G2 removed Overpass
  • Ancient was left over

MAP 1: Vertigo

Heroic’s pick of Vertigo was a logical choice after G2’s disastrous performance on said map against Monte. Despite the unconvincing start, G2 was able to pick up 6 rounds in a row after Heroic got off to a 4-0 start. G2 was able to take a lead before Heroic got back on the board and closed the first half on level terms before we moved to the second half. Yet another pistol-round loss saw G2 go behind by 4 rounds before they were able to put together a string of 6 rounds before closing the map with a 13-9 scoreline. m0NESY stood out as the best player who failed to deliver in the last game posting 19 frags at a steller IR of 1.59.

MAP 2: Nuke

A pistol-round victory saw Heroic go 5-0 up on their defence before G2 posted their first T-side round. G2 turned up the heat on their offence and got 7 rounds in a row without failing thus closing the first half with a 5-7 scoreline. G2 despite losing the fourth pistol round in a row managed to get back to their feet once guns came out. G2 let only one more round slip before dominantly closing the map with a 13-9 scoreline.

Team Spirit Take Down FaZe To Secure Upper Bracket Finals at IEM Katowice 2024 Group A

The Group A Upper Bracket Final showdown between Team Spirit and FaZe has just come to its conclusion, with the former coming out on top with a flawless 2-0 series win over their opposition.

Let’s take a look at what went down in the series.

Map Veto

  • Team Spirit removed Inferno
  • FaZe removed Vertigo
  • Team Spirit picked Mirage
  • FaZe picked Nuke
  • Team Spirit removed Anubis
  • FaZe removed Overpass
  • Ancient was left over

Map 1: Mirage (Pick – Team Spirit; Win – Team Spirit; Final Score – 13-11)

FaZe opened up the first game of the series with a pistol round win on the CT-side of Mirage. After converting the follow-up anti-eco round, FaZe managed to snatch the first buy-round of the game as well, thanks to a 1HP clutch from Helvijs “broky” Saukants. Team Spirit could grab their first round of the series after FaZe had already secured 5 rounds for themselves. However, it

didn’t take long for Spirit to close out the gap between the two teams as the half ended with a score of 6-6.

Team Spirit carried over their momentum to the second half of the game by taking the pistol round on the CT-side and converting the following round to get an 8-6 lead. FaZe was swift to retaliate, as they equalized the score with the next two rounds The two teams then proceeded to trade rounds back and forth, but Team Spirit managed to gain the upper hand in the nail-biter of a series to end the game 13-11 in their favor.

Map 2: Nuke (Pick – FaZe; Win – Team Spirit; Final Score – 13-5)

Spirit kicked off the CT-side of Nuke on the right foot with a pistol round win that resulted in an early 2-0 lead. FaZe tried to strike back by grabbing the next three rounds consecutively, but Spirit regained composure quickly enough to take the lead and close the half with a comfortable lead of 8-4.

Team Spirit looked comfortable heading into the T-side of the second map. After securing the crucial pistol round for themselves, Spirit left no room for mistakes as they managed to win the upper bracket finals of Group A without further hassle and with a score of 13-5.

G2 outclasses Monte to reach the next round of IEM Katowice 2024

G2 outlast Monte to make it to the next round of the IEM Katowice. The defending champions came into the game off the back of an underwhelming performance against ENCE the day before while Monte made it to this stage dominantly beating Cloud9.

VETO

  • G2 removed Mirage
  • Monte removed Inferno
  • G2 picked Nuke
  • Monte picked Vertigo
  • G2 removed Overpass
  • Monte removed Ancient
  • Anubis was left over

MAP 1: Nuke

G2 got off to a stellar start on their map pick. A well-drilled T-side saw them squeeze the life out of Monte as they went 7-0 before G2 lost a round. G2 remained highly dominant throughout the entirety of their offense as Monte had no answers to the slow methodical approach G2 closed the first half with a dominant 10-1 scoreline. Monte got a few more rounds on the board before G2 shut them down with a 13-4 dominant scoreline.

MAP 2: Vertigo

Monte showed up with more confidence on their map pick. G2 who struggled with Vertigo struggled to keep Monte at bay which caused them to pick up 6 rounds on their offence. G2 were not able to put up a good hold as Monte cruised through their defense while putting up solid work on their own CT side. m0nesy and co. had no answers to the Monte defense as they pushed the game to the third map with a dominant scoreline of 13-8.

MAP 3: Anubis

As G2 found themselves back in a corner, they came out swinging with a very one-sided start to their offense on Anubis. Monte only managed 3 rounds as G2 started firing on all cylinders especially with NiKo hitting an IR of 2.02 across the board while finding 5 openings in the map. A vintage NiKo performance saw G2 dominate Anubis as Monte found themselves out of IEM Katowice while G2 lived to fight for another day. The final map of the series ended with a 13-6 scoreline favoring G2.

ENCE demolishes G2 to reach IEM Katowice playoffs

A shaky G2 takes on an in-from ENCE for a spot in the Playoffs of IEM Katowice. G2 comes in the game off the back of a convincing victory against Heroic while ENCE on the other hand has been taking scalps left and right throughout the entirety of the tournament. This game boasts all the elements it takes to build an interesting match-up.

Veto

  • ENCE removed Inferno
  • G2 removed Vertigo
  • ENCE picked Mirage
  • G2 picked Anubis
  • ENCE removed Overpass
  • G2 removed Nuke
  • Ancient was left over

Map 1: Mirage

ENCE’s map pick saw them go 6-0 up right from the get-go as G2’s defence failed to find any answer until the 7th round of the game. G2 had unexpected contributors in nexa and Hooxi served as the highest-fragging player for G2 while ENCE showed up with all players picking up important kills across the board. G2 put together 4 rounds in a row on their defence before closing the half with a 4-8 scoreline.

Any hopes of a G2 comeback were cut short by a pistol-round victory by ENCE which they followed up with two more rounds. G2 were able to put together 3 more rounds on their offence but it presented nothing in terms of a comeback. hadens stood out with 21 frags and a 1.50 IR as his dynamic AWPing was too much for G2 to handle.

Map 2: Anubis

ENCE started the match with a pistol round loss but quickly made it to the scoreboard by converting a force buy. The force buy win took them 3-1 up before G2 won their 2nd round. G2 had players perform at a level that was not expected from them by any means, while flashes of brilliance did get a few rounds for them but it wasn’t enough to overtake a well-drilled T side of ENCE.

gla1ve stood out as their best player, topping the scoreboard while leading the team. The Danish skipper has led his polish teammates to the Spodek arena off the back of a 13-7 dommination of the international roster of G2 Esports. While ENCE finds themeselves in the playoffs, G2 will have one more chance to make it there.

Fortnite x Power Rangers: Is it going to happen?

0

The iconic Power Rangers are all set to make their grand entrance into the dynamic universe of Fortnite. Sources have been hinting at this striking collaboration, suggesting that the legendary Mighty Morphin Power Rangers might soon be battling it out in Fortnite’s ever-evolving landscape.

The colorful, acrobatic heroes, known for their distinctive outfits and formidable combat skills, are speculated to make a natural fit for Fortnite’s vibrant and action-packed environment.

This tantalizing rumor initially surfaced during a segment of the XboxEra podcast, where the insider Shpeshal_Nick discussed the potential crossover as part of the ‘Rumor Mill.’ Nick, who has a track record of unveiling future Fortnite collaborations, mentioned that the Power Rangers could be the next big addition to the game.

While specific details about the collaboration are still under wraps, the speculation suggests that the integration of Power Rangers into Fortnite could happen sooner than anticipated.

In terms of what the collaboration might entail, it’s speculated that if the Power Rangers do join the Fortnite roster, they might be offered as a bundled package. This would be similar to how Fortnite has previously handled group-themed characters, like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Players could potentially expect to see their favorite Rangers, including the Red, Yellow, Pink, Blue, and Black Rangers, as part of this exciting bundle.

Furthermore, considering Fortnite’s history of enriching its gameplay with thematic elements from collaborations, the Power Rangers crossover could potentially introduce unique outfits, mythical powers, and even legendary villains from the Power Rangers universe into the game.
