Call of Duty has gone above and beyond this year with the futuristic style suits with boxy metal armor from Warhammer. We’re not quite up to the GTA: San Andreas “jetpack” like level – yet, but feel that this wild fantasy of ours is just a stone’s throw away.
The actual Warhammer collaboration from earlier is what led to all of these inclusions and we aren’t complaining. However this time, there seems to be a robot takeover by the Decepticons – characters of theTransformers universe. All this is based on the fact that an unofficial transformers operator outfit has been spotted in Modern Warfare 3.

Regardless of not being the buff dude, Alejandro is best known for his “buff” attitude which is quite fearsome. He seems to have struck gold with this patch because of Megatron’s badass suit from Transformers all the way back in 2007.
The community on Reddit couldn’t stop talking about how cool the new suit was, and how it looked much like Blackout from Transformers right from the car-like shoulder pads and the armored wings in the back.
If you didn’t already know this, Blackout was a Transformer who was a chopper with his propeller blades behind him when in his fighting form. Although fans weren’t late to point out the funny enough “fumblebee” and “Transformers from Temu” skins from back in Season 2 which quite resemble their respective Transformers counterparts.
This all could maybe mean that with Treyarch and Black Ops6 right around the corner, the battle royale mode in Call of Duty could be heading down the path of its namesake. It feels highly unlikely, but what’s the harm in hoping?

Fortnite as a game has evolved over the last few years, that too, drastically. The stories have swayed from movie collaborations to artist collaborations – to a point where they are now broken up into chapters where each season’s dates are closer to each other than you might initially think.
A lot of the major patches recently have completely reworked the mechanics and the look & feel of the game. Fortnite is known for adding elements only to remove them in the next patch to a point where each season feels like a brand-new game!

How Fortnite has evolved through its seasons and chapters is a clear demonstration of its evolution. This is despite the fact that each season still feels different, even though we are now in the 5th chapter of the game. Nevertheless, when you look at the whole timeline, it becomes apparent that these seasons differ in length – enormously. Even ignoring the initial mini-season, there has been a lot of divergence ever since.
Similarly, naming conventions have not been uniform throughout. It was strange to move from numbers to numerals within Season 10 while the annual Chapter releases are a new idea altogether. However, since this pattern helps us denote where the game can go in the future, the unpredictability of schedules due to Unreal Engine updates on Chapter transitions suggests another story altogether. Another painstaking factor is how the meta keeps changing as often as the seasons, where every patch has a new strong weapon or place to loot.
The world this time opens up even wider with Chapter 5 of Fortnite. There is a new map in the Battle Royale and a weapon mod system, and the movement mechanics have changed completely. This version of the game feels quite dissimilar from its old one. In addition to being armed with all-new features, all players have fresh animations for different movements in the game. However, not all the most significant developments are happening in Battle Royale.
This Chapter of Fortnite introduced three new game modes. One is the Minecraft-like Lego mode, followed by what is called Fortnite Festival which is a rhythm-based game. The third one is the Rocket Racing mode. A few members of the community have even come up with their own countdowns for Fortnite seasons! On top of that Fall Guys has recently become one among them too; however not as full-blown games but as some fun Creative maps that can be explored eventually.
But clearly Fortnite is no longer just a Battle Royale game anymore because it’s growth seems endless.
But, how has the game changed over the seasons?
Fortnite seasons and chapters are nothing more than ways to iteratively divide the game, but what do they imply in terms of gameplay? For many people though, Fortnite seasons can be a big shift and a new direction for the game. In some cases, Seasons have a lot of consistency in their themes while new updates mostly steer the game into an entirely different path only to get dropped immediately in the next month. A good example is the recent Chapter 2 Season 6 where Epic rammed “crafting” mechanics into the title, only to ditch it entirely for the new alien-themed season next time around. Even more, is the Chapter 5 Season 3 becoming “Car Royale”, right after with the next season being a Superhero takeover. After this even wider changes seem to be planned, going back to OG Chapter 2 before a new map comes.
However, at times these changes stick throughout the season’s length. Some shifts in seasons change things up and don’t necessarily go away from that point onwards. Recently though, there have been additions like parkouring and sprinting which never existed before as well as Zero Build modes that debuted in Chapter 3 Season 2. It has built on what came before it significantly so far. Augments were introduced in chapter four as perks answer to Fortnite only for them to be sadly gone again in chapter five.
The momentum that has been built up over the course of Fortnite’s history came to an abrupt end when everything got reverted back to Chapter 1. As popular as that nostalgic trip was, it wasn’t long before it threw players into an entirely new world that is Chapter 5. This chapter introduced plenty of new content, and leaks, teasers & much more, including potentially going back to Chapter 2.
One of the significant changes that has affected Fortnite was evolving into a platform. The game now holds a number of modes within it outside the real Battle Royale experience. The shift is crystallized in Fortnite’s new tagline: “Find it in Fortnite.”
Some recent map changes
Fortnite’s ever-changing map has had a significant impact on how the game has grown over the years. Epic Games keeps the island fresh by launching new seasons and chapters. Each chapter wipes the slate clean, while seasonal tweaks maintain player interest. This strategy has given players many different ways to enjoy the game.
As the map grows so do the ways players can move around. Some items, like shopping carts, didn’t stick around long but helped shape future designs. Now, Ballers, Choppas, and cars are key parts of the game showing how the items players can find and use keep changing and growing.
You can see how far Fortnite has come since it started by looking at Chapter 5. The map in this chapter has changed a lot starting with ancient Greece then becoming a barren wasteland, and now a place where more people live. This hints at a new plan: to build on the map throughout a chapter instead of starting from scratch each time.
Finally, how long is a Fortnite season?
The length of the Fortnite seasons has never been consistent across chapters. Despite lasting for 72 days on average, chapter 1’s season was much shorter than Chapter 2 which had its average expanded to a somewhat similar value of 97 as a result of the first two seasons’ extension. Slight decrements in average season lengths were observed in Chapters 3 and 4 at approximately 90.5 and around 83.5 days respectively.
On the other hand, the fifth chapter has been more uniform or constant with an average of about eighty-three point five per session till now; this was from an increased number of games played in the first part compared to the latter sessions.
When it comes to duration, Fortnite OG was the shortest ever season lasting for only twenty-nine days while chapter two lasted one hundred twenty-eight days becoming the longest period ever recorded so far. Regardless, like chapters three and five also had long initial seasons, it appears unlikely that any forthcoming one will top chapter two season one’s record, particularly with its impending comeback as part of Fortnite OG.

The introduction of Immortal Draft to Dota 2 in its patch 7.33 update completely revolutionized the matchmaking system for players in the Immortal rank.
While the new player draft system in Immortal matchmaking initially appeared to be a refreshing change from the standard matchmaking in lower ranks—allowing captains to draft their teammates—it has also introduced certain issues that have been plaguing high-rank queues since its implementation.
Time and time again, the Dota 2 community has brought to light various issues with the Immortal Draft matchmaking, and while some of these issues have been fixed by Valve, others still remain in the game to this day.
Dota 2 Community Highlight Problems With Immortal Draft
Since the release of the 7.33 Dota 2 update, the community has made repeated posts on the game’s subreddit alongside other social media forums discussing the issues with the current Immortal Draft matchmaking.
One of the major concerns raised by the Dota 2 player base is the issue of parties being split up in the highest ranks of matchmaking. For the uninitiated, if you’re queuing with a friend in Immortal Draft, there’s a chance that you’ll be drafted into different teams, which can make the game unenjoyable for both players.
Moreover, parties getting potentially split up has given rise to one of the nastier problems that haunt the Immortal Draft matchmaking—win trading. Parties getting split into different teams can make it much easier for one of the party members to deliberately throw their game while the other member (who’s in the enemy team) activates their double-down token and vice versa.
The Dota 2 community has been urging Valve to address these problems with Immortal Draft at the earliest. It still remains to be seen how and whether Valve will decide to tackle these problems.

Valve’s latest update sees the gaming giant take a massive stance against the use of SODC techniques that will prevent the players from using keyboard automation features like Snap Tap and Rapid Trigger in Counter-Strike 2.
Many professional players have spoken up against the use of such technics that artificially augments mechanical skills in the game which is key in separating the elite players from the average ones. While such techniques blur the line between scripting/macros and manual input, the advance of hardware-based technologies is relatively new and can open up an avenue to destabilize the professional esports scene of CS2 ahead of the Major.
“Developing one’s coordination and reaction time has always been key to mastering Counter-Strike. Recently, some hardware features have blurred the line between manual input and automation, so we’ve decided to draw a clear line on what is or isn’t acceptable in Counter-Strike,” said Valve.
“We are no longer going to allow automation (via scripting or hardware) that circumvent these core skills and, moving forward, (and initially–exclusively on Valve Official Servers) players suspected of automating multiple player actions from a single game input may be kicked from their match.”
There has been an alarming rise in the use of such technologies among professional players and the ones who are already used to this might run into adjustment issues as the qualifiers for the majors are scheduled to commence shortly. SOCD techniques have become popular after Razer’s Huntsman V3 Pro gaming keyboard took it to a whole new level that sparked a debate within the community. Counter-Strike being a game that heavily relies on keyboard mechanics will have the skill gap between players bridged thanks to the use of features like Snap Tap and Rapid Trigger.
The community expressed mixed reactions when its potential was displayed in the game and Valve took a stance against the introduction of such technology in their esports scene. Upon the latest update, the developers have restricted any use of SOCD techniques in Counter Strike 2 but players are reporting getting wrongfully kicked from their matches.

Fans are testing several workarounds but using automations for inputs does help improve players’ mechanical skills. Popular pros like ropz has labeled such features as “literally a macro or script.” and called for it to be banned. At the same time, mechanical skills separate the truly elite players from the average ones.
There is a longer debate to be had over whether this should be allowed in CS2 but as things stand Valve is inclined towards not letting their players use this feature. However, as things stand, Valve did not provide a statement about players getting wrongfully kicked from matches but this remains a persistent issue for players who are not using said features.
Counter-Strike legend Oleksandr ‘s1mple’ Kostyljev has finally talked about his potential return to competitive CS2, igniting discussions among fans about the possibility of his comeback to the NAVI roster.
In a recent Telegram post, the 26-year-old AWPer expressed his frustration with “doing nothing” and revealed his desire to return to professional play in the future.
“Na’Vi doesn’t need S1mple; Sasha needs Na’Vi. There are things that are hard to talk about but the motivation never faded. I’m genuinely very happy with how the guys are playing, but sometimes they lack professional egoism, and that frustrates me,” s1mple said in his post. “I hope to return someday, I’m tired of doing nothing. And when I come back, I’ll definitely be stronger – it’s just a matter of time.”
With CS:GO transitioning to the Source 2 engine with the release of CS2 in September 2023, s1mple decided to step back from NAVI’s active roster. Following this move, his team went on to win the inaugural CS2 Major—the PGL Copenhagen Major—and the Esports World Cup 2024.
“First time playing on LAN, even though it’s a showmatch – the game feels different, you don’t need to use any extra stuff to help you,” s1mple added, referring to his showmatch with Kenny ‘kennyS’ Schrub.
In February 2024, s1mple joined the Falcons Esports CS2 roster on loan for a series against Metizport. Unfortunately, he didn’t perform up to his usual standards, ending the series with a less-than-expected showing.

EA FC is the only sports simulation game that boasts a stable and popular esports scene and the EA FC World Cup is the most coveted honor for its players. The 23-24 season being no exception, the tournament gave us some of the best matches by the best players in the world at the end of the year-long EA FC esports season.
Luna Galaxy star João “jafonso” Vasconcelos is the winner of the EA FC 24 Esports World Cup. The Portuguese player easily defeated Gabriel “Young” Freitas of Tuzzy E-Sports in the grand final after a difficult start to the tournament. After a group stage loss, jafonso dominated the entire tournament, especially in the finals beating Young with a 6-2 score line.
Jafonso received a $300,000 share of the $1 million prize pool as a result of his winning streak. Having shown his prowess throughout the course of the year, his dominance elevated to a whole new level as the biggest tournament of the year approached. While the group stage loss had fans worried about his performance, the rest of the tournament was an exceptional display of skill by the Portuguese.
As we approach the launch of EA FC 25, the new game will bring a ton of new metas, and tactics and will be a part of the evolution of the series. Jafonso will walk into the new season with his head held high while everyone else will look to take his crown for themselves, as things stand, we are all set for another exciting season of EA FC.
IEM Cologne 2024 champions Vitality will be attending the Blast World Finals which is set to take place right before the conclusion of the competitive Counter Strike season. Vitality will join the long list of top teams right after the conclusion of the final major of the year in Shanghai.
Specifics for the event will be shared at a later date given the final list of teams attending the event is yet to be finalized. The event boasts a prize pool worth a million dollars and falls under one of the most prestigious tournaments of Counter Strike. Given the timing of the tournament, it will house the teams that have performed at the highest level throughout the entirety of the year.

The event will take place after the Major which provides an opportunity for teams to walk away with something before the player break commences.
