Following their dream run in the RMR, Wildcard has exceeded expectations to beat Fnatic on the opening day of Perfect World CS2 Major.

Mirage was a risky pick given Wildcard had no prior experience of the map on LAN, but to everyone’s surprise, they were able to hold themselves despite getting off to a poor start. The first half saw Fnatic pull 7 rounds while Wildcard only managed 5 but the story soon changed once we got to the second half.

The second half had Fnatic make their way to an 11-8 scoreline and were on the verge of running away from the map when Wildcard found their footing and managed to put together a string of rounds to come back from the deficit and win the game with a 13-11 scoreline.

Despite blamef’s heroics, Sonic and JBa performed exceptionally for their side to pull the biggest upset given majority had Wildcards on their 0-3 Pick’Ems.

A dominant start of Cloud9 on their defence put them 6 rounds ahead of Team Liquid who had a promising record on Ancient. The defence put up by Cloud9 seemed impossible for Team Liquid to get past but moments of individual brilliance helped them squeeze in 3 rounds which fueled their comeback in the second half.

Liquid found their footing in the second half which got them back to winning ways. A near-perfect CT side from the North Americans saw them make a comeback as Cloud9 let go of the lead that put them within touching distance of a victory. The streak of rounds let Liquid reach the finish line with a 13-10 scoreline.

Their skipper in Twistzz, jks, and ultimate were the driving force for Liquid in their comeback as they now sit with a 1-0 scoreline, only two wins away from the next stage of the Major.

MIBR has defeated Virtus.pro in a best-of-match match in the Perfect World Shanghai Major’s Opening Stage. Vitality, one of the favorites to advance to the next stage, will need an extra match to go through.

A hot start to this Major campaign for Virtus.pro got them 4-0 up thanks to their pistol round victory. It wasn’t until the 5th round that MIBR posted their first-round but as soon as they did, the Brazilians went on to win all of the remaining rounds in the half except for one, closing the first half with a 5-7 scoreline.

VP winning the second pistol of the map got them to level the scoreline but that was all they managed in the first half. MIBR went on to bring home all of the remaining rounds to win the map with a dominant 13-7 scoreline.

Having posted a rating of 1.51, insani was the highest-rated player on the map while Lucaozy who got his sticker removed from the game due to a controversial rule was the top fragger with 19 kills.

A clerical error by Perfect World has caused Valve to introduce MIBR benched player Breno “⁠brnz4n⁠” Poletto’s player signature replacing Lucas “Lucaozy” Neves’ stickers who is a substitute but appeared for the side in the RMR.

According to the rules of Valve, only the team’s starters at the time of roster submission receive stickers and economic benefits. Lucaozy joined the team after the submissions closed and even though he will play the event with the team, the sticker and proceeds will go to brnz4n.

Tim “nawwk” Jonasson (Fnatic), Timofey “interz” Yakushin (Cloud9), and Sebastian “Tauson” Tauson (GamerLegion) share the boat with Lucaozy as despite their participation, Valve’s regulation has denied them a sticker to immortalize them in the game.
