G2’s individuals kicked off their campaign with a loss but warmed up as the event progressed and now they are just a win away from securing a spot at the next stage of the Shanghai Major.

Upon opening the pistol round with a win, 3DMAX gave their first round away against an anti-eco. The first half put up a brawl between two sides that saw both teams trading rounds before the French side could edge in a narrow lead as the half closed 7-5 favoring 3DMAX.

G2 came into their own in the second half where Snax went crazy to call an A play for every single round. Through executes or contact plays, G2 bullied the A site as they went on to win 8 rounds losing only one in the process. The individuals from G2 delivered when it mattered resulting in them going 2-1 up in the scoreboard.

Spirit got off to the strongest start against the most unlikely opponent. donk walked in with a hot hand and nothing could stand in his way as Team Spirit secured 10 rounds in the first half alone. NAVI somehow scrapped two rounds in the first half but it wasn’t enough to hide their embarrassing performance.

After a 10-2 half, there was no room for a comeback, and pistol round loss sealed the deal for NAVI. The defending champions did not get a chance to play the game, let alone mount a comeback which begs the question of whether they can make it to the next stage of the Major.

This Team Spirit victory should be attributed to a poor performance of NAVI and after yesterday’s loss to MIBR, NAVI needs to win all their remaining games in order to make it through.

G2 demolished BIG to win their first game of the Perfect World Shanghai Major. Many questioned their individuals after the beating they took from MongolZ earlier today but a convincing win against BIG has answered most concerns.

Starting on the T side, G2 got hard stopped by BIG leading them to go 0-3 down before they could get back on the board. Their first round came from an anti-eco in the fourth round which led them to go on a tear, winning all the remaining rounds in the half going 9-3 up as BIG failed to find any solutions in the first half.

The second half opened with BIG securing the pistol with a B execute but G2 took back control as soon as the guns came out. BIG failed to convert a single gun round as G2 steamrolled the German side to secure a dominant 13-5 win.
