Lekr0 picked up by NiP

1

Ninjas in Pyjamas have signed former Fnatic player Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson to their CS:GO roster, the organization announced Today.

It has been something I have been wanting to do at some point in my career. I’ve been thinking a lot about my future and what kind of player and teammate I want to be, so I’m really excited to be able to learn from the legends and to show a new self with great motivation in a large team like this. – Lekr0

William is a young player with an incredible talent. Counter-Strike is not all about talent, however, as the game is heavily based on all players taking on their individual roles in the team, both inside and outside of the game. We could unfortunately not find the right mix with William at the moment which has led us to the decision of benching him for the time being. We are hoping to see him back in competitive play in the future. In his place, we are extremely happy to have found an equally talented replacement in Lekr0 – Faruk ‘pita’ Pita

Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson will be replacing William “draken” Sundin on the NiP line-up. William has been playing with Ninjas in Pyjamas since March 2017. With him, the team has won the DreamHack Valencia 2017 and Intel Extreme Masters Season XII Oakland, but failed to make it to the major. In the last tournaments of 2018, the squad had early exits and couldn’t go past the group stages.

The first appearance for Lekr0 with Ninjas will be in the upcoming week at the CS:GO Asia Championship in Shanghai, China with $300,000 USD on the line.

NAVI outplayed NRG to win StarSeries i-League Season 5

1

Natus Vincere has won StarSeries i-League Season 5 pretty convincingly after taking down NRG 2-0 in the best-of-three grand-finals. Natus Vincere picked up Mirage while they removed Cache and Train whereas NRG chose to play Overpass by removing Dust II and Inferno. Nuke was left over. Natus Vincere won a hefty sum of $125,000 USD securing the first place followed by NRG, mousesports, and North respectively.

[table id=32 /]

Natus Vincere had an impressive start on T side. NRG started off pistol round with B site retake positioning but eventually lost the pistol round when they couldn’t counter the Zeus-Flamie crossfire at the connector and eventually lost three players. Na’vi, later went on to winning the next six rounds making it 7-0 deficit for the North-American side. Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov, in the eighth round, eventually broke their streak taking two crucial kills with the AWP. NRG convincingly finished the first-half 7-8 after losing seven straight rounds at the beginning. Second-half begin with s1mple hitting some nasty one-taps with the USP-S. NRG could only secure one round in the second-half and it was a straight-forward victory for Natus Vincere on Overpass.

Mirage went off with a spectacular post-plant 1vs3 clutch for Denis “electronic” Sharipov and flamie  took an incredible ace against unarmored NRG in the third round. NRG won the first buy round when Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov stepped up and took three compelling kills to secure the round. There were few back-to-back rounds for both the squads but the first-half ended up favoring Na’Vi. In the last round of the first-half, Damian “daps” Steele clutched a crucial 1vs2 and defused the bomb-making it 9-6 to Na’Vi. Just like Overpass, NRG could only secure one round on the Terrorist side in the second half.

Na’vi won both the pistol rounds and went swiping across all the way till the match-point but CeRq took a phenomenal ace with his AK-47 to hold down Na’vi. But unfortunately, NRG lost to five unarmored enemies and the map ended up Danylo “Zeus” Teslenko zeusing Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte.

NRG couldn’t achieve double digits in both the maps and they need to work on their T-side.

Undoubtedly, Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev has been awarded HLTV’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) for StarSeries i-League Season 5.

Optic India lineup could well feature antidote, forsaken

3

Optic Gaming is vested in trying to set up their local squad in India to compete in the South Asian & APAC region. The team will go by the name Optic India, well sorted to go official with the lineup tomorrow.

We take a close look at the selection process, the individuals who got shortlisted and the potential players who would make it through to the Optic India lineup. The top eight from fourteen-hundred odd entries got cued to five, and the official announcement is expected to come tomorrow.

We take you through our best guess of the Optic India lineup

Sabyasachi “Antidote” Bose

Antidote, as we all know is one of the finest snipers in the country. He has played for JMD Gaming, Invisible Wings, Eternal Esports and Team Malhar in the past. If not him, it will be the difficult job to select a primary AWPer for the OpTiC India roster.

Agneya “Marzil” Koushik

Marzil could might as take the role of a lurker in the OpTic India line-up. Twenty-year-old is a beast on LAN and he had 38 bombs at OpTic tryouts. He bagged a lot of experience while playing for tMg Gaming and Entity Gaming.

Nikhil “Forsaken” Kumawat

Forsaken had a bunch of ups and downs in his career. He was a significant part of Shooting Monkeys, SemperX and Team Malhar’s success at the domestic level. About ten months ago, he was handed a two-year ban by ESL who is a member of Esports Integrity Coalition. Later, the ban was lifted in February 2018. Forsaken could play the role of support or entry for OpTic India squad as he is regular in portraying so for teams he has played previously for.

Vishal “Haivaan” Sharma

Haivaan is a fresh name in the Indian Counter-Strike scene. Twenty-four years old has impressed everyone with his abilities to communicate and give call-outs in-game. His selection into the OpTic line-up is none less than a dream come true. Either Haivaan or Formless has no reason to resist taking over the roles of IGL and let their seniors shoot the brunt while in game.

Rishabh “Formless” Tomar –

Just like Haivaan, Formless also used to be an untold name in the Indian scene. He received significant recognition after he made his cut into the top #8 at OpTic India tryouts. Twenty-two years old could either play support or burden himself with the responsibility of an IGL.

We’ll just wait to see what unfolds tomorrow when the official lineup is put into picture!

NBK on trial with Cloud9

1

According to a report by Vakarm.net, Nathan “NBK” Schmitt is on trial with Cloud 9. Schmitt will become the captain and in-game-leader of the North-American roster. Both the parties have not yet commented on the information.

The role of the in-game leader in Cloud 9 was vacated on May 26, when the team expelled Pujan “FNS” Mehta. Twenty-six year old said that he could not find a tactical approach that would suit all his teammates. NBK could continue his lead-in-game experience in a drifting team since it won the Major in January and suffered the departure of its star player Jack “Stewie2k” Yip in March.

Cloud9 will be seen playing ECS Finals Season 3 this weekend at SSE Arena in London. The league had recently changed its rules which now allows a team to make two transfers in a single season, but only one can come from a team participating in the ECS League. Cloud 9 having already used this possibility with FNS, NBK would not play for the North-American team even if the transfer would be finalized before that date.

Team Brutality needs no introduction. The boys have shut down all the criticism after topping the scoreboard for the Summer Season. The return of Ayush “astaRRR” Deora has led to a spree of satisfying results for the team.

Team Invictus is an old name in the Indian Counter-Strike scene and their core team has won commendable titles under the banner of Entity Gaming & Eternal Esports in 2017. They haven’t stopped their run in 2018 and are tied with Team Brutality at nine wins in the online season.

2ez Gaming is a bunch of young boys tuned in to give an intense head-to-head fight to the veterans in the Indian scene. They are on a uprise since the ILG Mumbai Qualifiers where they couldn’t close down the maps against Entity Gaming at GearUP Cafe, Powai. Since then, they have acquired astonishing results in the ESL India Premierships.

Entity Gaming has had several ups and downs in the second season of ESL India Premiership. Having won both Fall Season finals and Winter Season finals in 2017, boys in blue were pretty dominating during late 2017. Entity merely qualified for the LAN event only after 2ez won against Portal e-Sports and VAC Banned won over Team Malhar.

Cloud9 announces FNS to inactive CSGO roster

1

Cloud9 has taken to Twitter to announce that Pujan “FNS” Mehta has been added on the inactive list from the starting line-up of the organization’s CS:GO roster. FNS will play for Cloud9 at the upcoming ECS Finals in London, but Cloud9 will be open to offers and opportunities from other teams immediately.

According to a report by dbltap, Cloud9 is considering G2 Esports players Dan “apEX” Madesclaire or Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt to replace him.

FNS joined Cloud9 last month as a replacement for parting rifler Jake “Stewie2k” Yip, who left for SK Gaming. FNS previously played for CompLexity and Counter Logic Gaming, primarily as an in-game leader. Earlier this week, Cloud9 CEO Jack Etienne mentioned in a tweet that the organization paid a $200,000 buyout to acquire FNS. During his time with the team, Cloud9 reached the playoffs of DreamHack Marseille but failed to get past groups at IEM Sydney and the ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals.
