Simar ‘Psy’ Sethi, one of the renowned faces of the Indian CSGO professional scene was recently in the news for declaring his departure from the competitive scene. It seemed highly unlikely at this stage since VALORANT has just been launched. Adding to that fact that there will not be Indian servers until later this year.

Recent reports from media outlet Sportskeeda alluded to the fact that Simar ‘psy’ Sethi was going to follow in the footsteps of fellow esports athlete Tejas ‘Ace’ Sawant by announcing his retirement from competitive CSGO in favor of trying to go pro in Valorant.

We reached out to Simar in order to get clarification on the rumored story. The Indian CSGO star was swift to deny the rumors while stating that it was just a tongue-in-cheek statement meant for the stream.

“That was just a casual banter.”

“It was just banter. I have no plans to leave CSGO. I am committed and passionate about the game and am trying my best to represent India at the highest level. I have tremendous support from my fanbase but unfortunately, it is tough to get organizations on board right now. I will not give up though. I love CSGO and will always do. I’m just learning Valorant like every other esports enthusiast,” said Simar Sethi.”

Sethi further clarified that it will be months before there is any concrete conclusion regarding a potential switch to other games or even Valorant for that matter.
