Travis Scott’s music concert in Fornite breaks previous viewers record

Fortnite has once again shattered its own record by breaking the previous record set during Marshmello's in-game concert.

Through a tweet earlier, the Fortnite team has proudly proclaimed that they have once again outdone themselves. The battle royale has set yet another milestone for themselves as the Travis Scott event saw the game reach well over 12 million concurrent players – a figure that most other titles can only hope to achieve. For comparison, CSGO recently set a record for 1.3 million concurrent players and Fortnite’s record was almost 10 times that number.

Epic Games had earlier announced news of them collaborating with rapper Travis Scott and holding a live concert in Fortnite. The concert gained unprecedented attention from fans as 12.3 millions of them jumped in-game to catch the concert live, breaking the previous record of about 10 million players set during a concert by Marshmello, a popular DJ.

Fans who couldn’t catch the live concert in-game resorted to streaming platforms like Twitch, YouTube and Mixer to see the action unfold. According to a report by Lightshed, the event gathered 1.2 million viewers on YouTube, 833k viewers on Twitch and 25k viewers on Mixer.

Travis Scott himself didn’t hide his joy surrounding the event either, he soon tweeted about how much he enjoyed being a part of the event.

Don’t be sad in case you missed the first Travis Scott concert, because there are four more to come. The dates of the next concerts are as follows:

  • Europe and Middle East – April 24, 7 AM PT
  • Asia and Oceania – April 25, 9 PM PT
  • Europe and Middle East – April 25, 8 AM PT
  • America’s – April 25, 3 PM PT
