North American organisation Cloud9 have announced the first change to their main Valorant roster named Cloud9 Blue, with the release of in-game leader Josh “shinobi” Abastado.

The 26-year-old was announced as a Valorant player for Cloud9 Blue in July, 2020 and was in-charge of leading the team on the server.

However, Cloud9 Blue had a disappointing season culminating into the biggest shock of them all as the Valorant squad failed to make it to the Main Event of Valorant First Strike: North America.

Under the 26-year-old’s leadership, Cloud9 Blue failed to establish themselves as a force to be reckoned in the North American region and even seem to have regressed as teams like Renegades, T1 and more improved to upstage them in the proverbial North American power rankings for Valorant.

This is not the only Valorant change done by Cloud9 as an organisation. They recently released their Korean roster and dissolved their Korean division, to say, for the foreseeable future.

The release of their in-game leader suggests that Cloud9 will now be looking to add someone who can fill the very role left by shinobi.

There has been no indication to the prospect of there being more changes in the offing at Cloud9 Blue.

Till Cloud9 Blue are able to find their righteous fifth, they are now down to four players on their active roster.

Cloud9 Blue are now:

  • Daniel “vice” Kim
  • Skyler “Relyks” Weaver
  • Mitch “mitch” Semago
  • Tyson “TenZ” Ngo
  • James “JamezIRL” Macaulay (Head coach)
