6 Among Us Name Tricks You Should Know

Among Us Name

There is no denying that the multiplayer cross-platform game, Among Us is trending all over the Internet right now. Nearly everyone is hooked to the game – from your next-door neighbor to big-time streamers such as Shroud, Pokimane, and even Pewdiepie himself. The game gained a lot of popularity recently, even though it was first released more than two years ago in June 2018.

Among Us doesn’t boast of high-end graphics or a super catchy soundtrack. What makes the game so popular is its simple mechanics and the fact that it is extremely fun to play with friends. A lobby of 4 to 10 players can play online or over a local Wi-Fi network as they figure out who the impostors on their spaceship are.

The game requires strategic deduction, reasoning (well, most of the time), and a decent knack for lying to win the game. As with many other multiplayer titles, Among Us allows the player to have a username of their choice. In this particular game, usernames are particularly hilarious because they are displayed in large font over the screen after every successful voting session.

The username bears the suffix “has been ejected” or “was/was not an impostor”, which leads to some really laugh-worthy moments. Here are three usernames that will guarantee a chuckle from your crew-mates, even if you’re the impostor.

You Fool I (or U Fool I)

Now, this username doesn’t make a lot of sense on its own. It’s not even a meaningful phrase, but as mentioned previously, it pairs up really well with the end-of-the-round announcement titles. For instance, if you’re not the impostor but your dumb crewmates still decide to kick you out of the ship, the announcement screen would look something like this.

Now if that’s not funny, we don’t know what is!

Me

Hear us out, this is an excellent username to send your whole lobby into peals of laughter. Voting phases can be extra confusing with crewmates typing “Vote Me” or “It was me who did it”. Imagine seeing a random crew-mate getting ejected out of the ship just because they didn’t type your color in the chat.

Name & Color trick

The one way to trick boomers into voting fast is to confuse them with your in-game nick and the color of your character. I am sure this idea isn’t exactly innovation for you, but you’d be surprised at how much it works.

Name yourself blue, and chose the color cyan, and if everything goes well, people will be confused much during voting. Even though they’re trying to frame or suspect you, you already have four players in the game co-incidentally taking the bullet for you.

No one

What better way to mislead all the players in the lobby than to confuse the living hell out of them? Imagine the look of utter doubt on their faces when they see “No one was ejected” or “No one was an impostor”. Or better yet, when someone in your lobby says “Vote no one” and everyone else skips the vote? That is the ultimate reward for having this as your username.

If you are interested in showing off a blank username, check out this guide. It can make things really difficult when your crew is voting via names only.

In addition to the names mentioned above, players can also baffle their teammates by naming themselves after famous characters/celebrities or naming yourself after a completely random color.

Just make sure not to name yourself “Impostor”. Things won’t turn out too well for you.

Among Us is known for being one of the most fun games to be played right now. To spice things up further, go ahead and try out some catchy new Among Us name in your next game and get some good laughs.
