Valorant players are reporting error code Val 43: Here’s how you can fix it

Valorant has seen a surge of players reporting the error code 43 over the past few days, but what causes it? Read on to find out.

How to convert CSGO sensitivity to Valorant?

Valorant is currently one of the most popular FPS titles in the world of video games. However, that doesn’t make it free from flaws. From time to time again, players have repeatedly encountered bugs, glitches, and fatal errors while playing or attempting to play the shooter. While Riot is generally swift to patch out these problems, some of them still go under their radar.

Riot Games has recently revealed their upcoming plans on the Act 3 of Valorant. The plans include changes to the competitive ecosystem, a new snow-themed map ‘Icebox’, and possibly even a new Agent.

They’ve also announced the release date of the upcoming Act which has sparked excitement in the community. However, with the increasing hype surrounding the game, the frequency of the appearances of Valorant error codes have also increased significantly.

What is error code Val 43?

If you’re unaware of what the infamous error code 43 is, consider yourself lucky. The annoying bug not only prevents players from playing Valorant, but also disallows launching the game.

If you’re experiencing this problem, you’ll be greeted with this message whenever you attempt to launch Valorant – “There was an error connecting to the platform. Please restart your game client.”

This problem generally occurs as a result of Riot’s server problems. This may happen during a scheduled maintenance, a new update, or the servers being down due to technical faults.

However, if the root of the problem lies in your client, you can find it incredibly difficult to fix this issue.

How to fix error code 43?

To fix this error code, simply follow the steps listed below:

  1. Go to the search bar in your windows and type run (You can also simply press the windows key + r on your keyboard.)
  1. Type %Appdata% and hit enter
  1. Go to your %AppData% folder and delete the RiotClientPrivateSettings.yaml file.

e.g. C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Riot Games\Riot Client\Data

  1. Run Valorant as Admin after deleting the file.

This causes your client to re-log in to Valorant, consequently fixing the underlying problem. However, if the problem is happening worldwide due to technical faults in the server, your best bet may be to wait patiently in hopes that Riot fixes this problem themselves.
