NEMIGA Eliminates M80 from BLAST.tv Austin Major

One of the most promising teams from North America has just taken an early exit from Stage 2 of Blast.tv Austin Major has failed to secure more than a single win after playing 4 matches, while NEMIGA lives to fight another day thanks to this important win.

VETO

  • M80 removed Train
  • Nemiga removed Mirage
  • M80 picked Ancient
  • Nemiga picked Dust2
  • Nemiga removed Anubis
  • M80 removed Nuke
  • Inferno was left over

Map 1: Ancient; Pick: M80; Winner: NEMIGA

The solid start from the Russian side was met with solid resistance from M80, thus forcing a well-matched first half. Switching sides with a 6-6 scoreline failed to separate both teams as we further progressed into the half, and it took the final round of the map for NEMIGA to edge out a win that could easily have gone the way of M80. zweih, with 20 frags by far, was the best player on the server and a crucial piece in NEMIGA edging out a win.

Map 2: Dust2; Pick: NEMIGA; Winner: NEMIGA

Having won Ancient, NEMIGA had a relatively easier time on Dust 2, a map that has been historically good for them in terms of results. Not only did NEMIGA pull ahead, but they also remained largely dominant for the entirety of the map as M80 failed to even get going. Having only managed 2 rounds in the first half, M80 failed to secure anything at all in the second half, handing the win to NEMIGA with a comfortable 13-2 scoreline for the Russians.

While M80 bows out having won a single series in the event, NEMIGA will have to win the next game, or they might join M80 on their way out of Austin.

How to Get the Myst Gauntlets in Fortnite?

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 introduces a flood of superhero-inspired equipment and dark, mystical abilities, and the Myst Gauntlets stand out among the new additions. The powerful item enables players to call down a lethal swarm of shadow ravens, ideal for up-close fighting and managing small areas.

Here’s everything you need to know about getting the Myst Gauntlets and utilizing their special ability in Fortnite.

How to Get the Myst Gauntlets in Fortnite?

The Myst Gauntlets are burst damage and crowd control gauntlets. When used, they unleash a swarm of dark ravens that target nearby enemies, inflicting massive area-of-effect (AoE) damage. They are very useful for clearing rooms and pressuring bunched-up enemies.

They have cooldowns between charges. Proper management of these cooldowns is important to ensure sustained combat, particularly during aggressive pushes.

To maximize effectiveness, the gauntlets are most effective when combined with mobility items such as Shockwave Grenades or Kinetic Springs. These allow you to close distances rapidly and perform lethal close-range combos.

The best place to find Myst Gauntlets is at the Supernova Academy, which is in the north-central area of the Chapter 6 Season 3 map. Go to the basement of the Tech Lab and try to achieve Hero Rank C or above to access the vaults that hold Hero Caches. These caches often have the gauntlets inside.

If you haven’t yet achieved the needed Hero Rank, you can also obtain Myst Gauntlets at Super Stations drifting around the map. You can buy the gauntlets for 300 gold bars at such stations by accessing the device.

Although uncommon, there’s also a probability of encountering Myst Gauntlets in random chests or vaults found in lab locations distributed around different Points of Interest (POIs). But counting on these is less reliable.

How to Find and Beat Kor in Fortnite?

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 introduces several fresh challenges, but none are as exhilarating as the boss battles, especially the showdown with Kor. This stealthy, teleporting boss is one of the toughest in the game and offers high-tier rewards, including her Mythic Weapon and the powerful Shrouded Striker Medallion. Securing these items can dramatically shift the odds in your favor, but first, you’ll need to find her and survive the fight.

How to Find Kor in Fortnite?

Kor can be found at Shogun’s Arena, an afloat battleground also known as Rift Island. Unlike map locations that remain fixed, Rift Island appears dynamically in-game. It generally shows up after the fourth storm circle closes, around 12 to 13 minutes into play. When it appears, the island is immediately marked on your mini-map with a red or dimensional rift icon.

How to Find and Beat Kor in Fortnite

To get to Rift Island, players must utilize the wind tunnels under the floating island. The updrafts push the players upward to safely glide onto the arena. Upon landing, proceed towards the shrine structure in the middle where Kor is generally patrolling. This zone turns into a heated hotspot since numerous players flock there to grab the loot, so be ready for intense competition.

Kor’s combat strategies render her an impressive boss in this season. She often teleports, targeting players with a blue laser before abruptly disappearing and attacking from an unforeseen direction. Complementing her threat, she occasionally turns invisible for a very short time, compelling players to use auditory indicators and sharp reaction times.

The battle becomes more heated as her health falls. Kor orders henchmen as reinforcements, building layers of pressure and requiring players to split their attention between them and her. To add insult to injury, Kor’s attacks can dish out large amounts of damage rapidly, and players must keep on the move at all times and look for methods to disrupt her line of sight.

How to Beat Kor in Fortnite?

Defeating Kor takes accuracy, preparation, and excellent situational awareness. Try to always go for headshots since they can greatly reduce the fight time by causing maximum damage. Starting the fight with an increased Hero Rank and reliable mid-to-late-game equipment is also a good move, with a higher chance of surviving her powerful attack.

Having natural cover on the island is important. The pillars of the shrine and other buildings offer you the defense you need when Kor teleports off or snipes you from afar. This allows you to have precious breathing time to recover, move, or reload. Having long-range heavy-hitters, like the Superman Sprite, is also a blessing. This does massive damage from a protected distance and can be spammed well enough if timed properly.

When Kor calls out her henchmen, be sure to eliminate them fast. If you leave them to themselves, they can engulf you, and the battle becomes almost impossible to control. The other major factor to consider is the ever-present threat of third-party players. The promise of Rift Island’s high-level loot means a lot of players get drawn in during the match, and you might find yourself under attack by opportunistic groups waiting to plunder your hard-won spoils. Always remain vigilant about your surroundings and be prepared to reposition using the wind tunnels if needed.

Lynn Vision Beats TYLOO in BLAST.tv Austin Major

Lynn Vision is the winner of the Chinese derby at the BLAST.tv Austin Major. While both teams showed promise coming into the event, Lynn Vision has been the better team by far, and now they are a single win away from making it to the next stage.

VETO

  • Lynn Vision removed Mirage
  • Lynn Vision removed Inferno
  • TYLOO removed Dust2
  • TYLOO removed Ancient
  • TYLOO removed Nuke
  • Lynn Vision removed Train
  • Anubis was left over

Map : Anubis; Pick: Decider; Winner: Lynn Vision

Lynn Vision’s shockingly good start to the game kept TYLOO on the back foot despite the latter team being on the more favourable side of Anubis. Winning 7 rounds in a row, Lynn Vision’s start to the map left little room for TYLOO to make anything out of the half. Lynn Vision won two more rounds to end the half with a dominant 9-3 scoreline. TYLOO did manage to win the pistol, but soon lost the following round, and Lynn Vision capitalised on it to win the series with a 13-5 scoreline.

TYLOO will now have to fight their way out through the 1-2 scoreline bracket if they want to go further in Austin. With no room for error, either TYLOO makes a flawless run in Stage 2 or they take a flight back to China.

B8 Destroys Falcons in BLAST.tv Austin Major Stage 2

B8 has shocked the Counter-Strike community with a stunning win over the Falcons, who were one of the favourites coming into the series. NiKo and co. start off the series in the worst way possible, while B8 have secured an unexpected victory and are now brimming with confidence moving ahead in the series.

VETO

  • B8 removed Nuke
  • B8 removed Dust2
  • Falcons removed Anubis
  • Falcons removed Mirage
  • Falcons removed Inferno
  • B8 removed Train
  • Ancient was left over

Map: Ancient; Winner: Falcons

Despite winning the pistol round, the Falcons managed to drop the ball, leading to B8 taking over the game, as the Falcons only managed 3 rounds in the first half of the game. B8, having remained dominant in the first half, secured 9 rounds as the Falcons suffered a disastrous start to their major. While Falcons managed to pull a few rounds in the second half, B8 were far ahead of the game in the first half to win the match comfortably in the second half.

Falcons will now continue their run in Stage 2 of the Austin Major with a loss, and now they find themselves with a need for a flawless run, as more than two losses would translate to another early exit for NiKo.

FaZe Dominates HEROIC to Start BLAST.tv Austin Major

FaZe Clan dominated Heroic with a heavily one-sided scoreline inspired by a stunning s1mple performance. For the first time, FaZe Clan has shown up with its complete roster and posted a statement win to kick off their Major campaign.

VETO

  • HEROIC removed Inferno
  • HEROIC removed Nuke
  • FaZe removed Train
  • FaZe removed Mirage
  • FaZe removed Ancient
  • HEROIC removed Anubis
  • Dust2 was left over

Map: Dust 2; Winner: FaZe

Starting strong, s1mple took over the game for FaZe, while the supporting cast of EliGE, Rain, and Frosten showed up to kick the game off on the highest note. While Heroic did get on the board, FaZe managed to get 10 rounds before 2 rounds came in for Heroic. Switching sides 10-2, Heroic kicked off the second half with a pistol round win, but FaZe managed to get back on the board with a force buy win and continued a flawless run till they won the game with a dominant 13-3 scoreline.

Having trash-talked on X before the game, HEROIC has managed to suffer a disastrous loss at the hands of the FaZe Clan. As HEROIC will continue their run with a loss, FaZe find themselves 2 wins away from making it to the next stage.
