Abyss To Return To Valorant’s Competitive Map Pool With S25A4 Update

Abyss is finally making its return to Valorant!

The fan-favorite map, which was removed from the competitive pool of Valorant in Patch 10.04, will be returning to the ranked queues with the upcoming Season 25 Act 4 update.

After being initially added to the FPS title in June 2024, Abyss stayed in the competitive map rotation for roughly six months before being removed alongside Bind. While players were still able to enjoy the map in other game modes like Swiftplay and Unrated, many expressed frustration at the map being removed from the competitive queues in such a short span of time.

Abyss Returning To Valorant Competitive Map Rotation

Now, after another six months since its removal, leaks from prominent Valorant dataminers suggest that Abyss is set to return to the competitive map pool with the upcoming Season 25 Act 4 update.

Note that Riot Games has yet to officially confirm the return of Abyss to Valorant’s competitive mode, so take this leak with a grain of salt.

For the same reason, it’s still unclear which existing map Abyss might replace in the current competitive rotation.

Below, we have listed the current competitive map pool of Valorant before the Season 25 Act 4 changes:

  • Ascent
  • Haven
  • Icebox
  • Lotus
  • Pearl
  • Split
  • Sunset

Will Valorant Mobile Get Banned in India?

Valorant Mobile has officially entered its closed beta phase, with servers going live on June 12, 2025, at 6:30 AM IST. Currently, the beta testing is exclusively available in China, where players can access the game through Chinese app stores after successful registration and selection. The closed beta has already garnered significant attention, with the game accumulating over 20 million pre-registrations on the Chinese app store. According to app store listings, the expected full release date for China is November 25, 2025, though this remains unconfirmed by developers.

Valorant Mobile’s Anticipation in India and Concerns

The Indian gaming community has expressed tremendous excitement for Valorant Mobile’s potential arrival. Popular content creators have indicated interest in competitive participation should the game launch in India. The enthusiasm stems from Valorant PC’s massive success in the country, where it has become one of the most popular tactical shooters.

Indian Valorant streamers like SkRossi, HydraFlick, Binks69,  HydraFlick, and more have built substantial followings. The existing infrastructure of Valorant (PC version) demonstrates the country’s readiness for mobile esports expansion.

Valorant Mobile’s Chinese Connection Concern

However, significant concerns cloud Valorant Mobile’s future in India due to its development partnership. Riot Games has collaborated with LightSpeed Studios, a subsidiary of Tencent Games, to develop the mobile version. This partnership raises red flags given India’s history with Chinese-linked gaming applications.

LightSpeed Studios, formerly known as LightSpeed & Quantum Studio, is the same developer behind PUBG Mobile. The Indian government banned PUBG Mobile in September 2020 along with 117 other Chinese-linked applications, citing national security concerns and data privacy issues. The ban specifically targeted games with Tencent connections due to concerns about data transmission to servers outside India.

The concerns aren’t unfounded, as evidenced by League of Legends: Wild Rift’s situation in India. Despite being developed by Riot Games, Wild Rift has never received an official Indian launch, largely attributed to its Tencent backing. While other Riot games like Teamfight Tactics and Legends of Runeterra are available in India, the MOBA title remains absent from Indian app stores.

Speculations suggest that Riot has been cautious about releasing Wild Rift in India precisely because of potential government concerns regarding Tencent’s involvement. This precedent suggests that Valorant Mobile may face similar regulatory scrutiny upon its potential Indian launch.

Given India’s track record of banning Chinese-linked games and the ongoing geopolitical tensions, Valorant Mobile’s future in India remains highly uncertain. While the Indian gaming community eagerly awaits the title, the game’s association with Tencent through LightSpeed Studios presents a significant regulatory hurdle that could prevent its official launch in one of the world’s largest mobile gaming markets.

How to Obtain Iron Ore in Dune Awakening?

0

Iron is a must-have in Dune Awakening; you’ll use it nearly all the time, especially for creating iron ingots that form the basis of tools, structures, and weaponry. Extracting iron is one of the earliest large-scale activities you’ll be doing, and it helps to know the resource flow early on to have an essential advantage.

Here’s a refined guide to make iron-hunting easier.

How to Obtain Iron Ore in Dune Awakening?

Your path to iron starts in the Wester Vermillius Gap, directly north of Hagga Basin South, your starting location. This area is teeming with coarse rock structures heavy in iron ore deposits. These spawn points show up as little glinting silver veins in rocky outcroppings on most players’ maps.

Utilize a cliff-top vantage point to your benefit. Once you’re at a better height, use a Survey Probe to scan on an area-wide scale. It will spot local iron and other valuable elements within a specific distance, relieved from having to scan each boulder manually.

To mine iron ore, you will only need the Cutteray Mk1 in the beginning, which you can unlock early during the tutorial. Mine all visible silver-grey iron veins benevolently demarcated by faintly glowing borders.

As you proceed through the tech tree, advanced models of Cutteray will increase your rate of mining as well as yield, but the Mk1 is adequate for initial exploration and building.

How to Get Away from Sandworms in Dune Awakening?

0

Few things in Dune Awakening fill one with more fear than running into a Sandworm. These giant creatures arise out of the sands of the desert, led by the faint rhythmic vibrations, fueled by an urge to explore and destroy. Sandworms can reduce players and their equipment to nothing in seconds. To survive in this harsh environment, knowing how not to get caught or how to outmaneuver these creatures is crucial.

Sandworms patrol the immense Deep Desert and other exposed sand areas. These burrowing animals detect motion and vibrations, whether caused by walking, vehicles, or activated tech, and react by boring in the direction of the movement.

Fencers start fencing off danger when a yellow warning meter pops up, showing an increasing vibration level. As the meter becomes red, thudding gets louder, and a Sandworm will strike. Death due to a Sandworm results in a complete loss of everything carried and vehicles.

How to Get Away from Sandworms in Dune Awakening?

To reduce the risk and preserve your progress, use these tried-and-true methods:

  • Rocky areas and solidified ground quieten the Sandworm meter immediately. Routes skirting these areas have significantly lower vibration exposure.
  • Refrain from running on open sand, as rushing increases detection chance. Use crouch-walking instead. Nevertheless, if the red meter shows up, only rapid movement towards cover will save you.
  • Levitation systems and shields create rhythmic energy signatures that draw Sandworms. Disable these before traveling over sandy terrain to minimize unwanted attention.
  • Skills such as Bindu Spirit leaps or Shigawire dashes can gain precious seconds, particularly if the target is nearby rocky ground. Use these in emergencies only to avoid becoming overrun.
  • Ornithopters provide near-perfect safety. Airborne travel completely bypasses Sandworm detection. Ground vehicles also benefit from customization, like scanners or rocket turrets.
  • Late-game Thumpers (obtainable after key story progress) deliberately create rhythmic pulses to lure worms away from valuable zones like spice fields.
Set 2–3 units downwind of your position, then clear the area quickly. Remember, the worm will eventually consume the Thumper.
  • Aecdotal accounts indicate that intentionally sacrificing a vehicle, such as causing its explosion, may be able to stop a Sandworm kill before the creature fully emerges. Though unconventional and expensive, it might be worth it to save valuable personal equipment.

If you still have any queries regarding Sandworms, let us know in the comments below.

Dune Awakening Carbon Ore Location Guide

0

Once you’re done with the early game stages of Dune Awakening, you’ll find yourself needing some rare crafting materials like the Carbon Ore to be able to progress further into the game.

Carbon Ore is one of the most important materials that you’ll need in Dune Awakening to craft late-game items for yourself. However, they are quite difficult to come by if you don’t know where to look for them.

If you’re currently progressing through the mid-game and looking for Dune Awakening Carbon Ore locations, we’ve got you covered.

In this guide, we’ll take a look at how to get Carbon Ore in Dune Awakening and where you can find it on the map.

Dune Awakening Carbon Ore Locations

To get Carbon Ore in Dune Awakening, you’ll first have to come across Carbon deposits. You can then mine these Carbon deposits using a Cuttray to get the ores.

You can also find some Carbon Ores lying around the deposits that you can simply pick up without mining.

But where do you find Carbon deposits in Dune Awakening?

In Dune Awakening, carbon deposits can be found at Jabal Eifrit Al-Janub, which is located just north of the Eastern Vermillius Gap.

As mentioned earlier, you’ll at least need a Cuttray MK2 to mine the Carbon Ore. The Cuttray MK2 can be crafted with 10 Iron Ingots and 7 EMF Generators.

That’s everything you need to know about Carbon Ore locations in Dune Awakening.

Having left behind a big chunk of teams, the final 16 represent the best of the best teams, and the ones coming in from Stage 2 will now face the challenge that the teams they overcame could not pose.

6G2 Esports vs 3DMAX23:45 IST
7Aurora Gaming vs FaZe Clan01:00 IST (June 13)
8Liquid vs Lynn Vision Gaming02:15 IST (June 13)

Some of the teams are clear favourites on Day 1 of the matchups, and while this may pave an easier way for some teams but given that they are the best of the best teams out there, upsets are common at this level.

Goes without saying that the likes of Vitality, Team Spirit, and MOUZ are the clear favourites coming into Stage 3, and while there are several underdogs, it would not be surprising to see a few dark horses come out. Make sure to tune in on the official BLAST Twitch and YouTube channels at the aforementioned time to not miss the action.

Austin Major Stage 3 Pick’Ems Guide: Road to Diamond Coin

After a largely unpredictable Stage 2 filled with devastating upsets and surprise outcomes, BLAST Austin Major 2025 Pick’Ems have been left in shambles for the vast majority of players.

However, even if your Pick’Ems for Stage 2 didn’t pan out as you had hoped, don’t give up just yet — there’s still a chance to secure the Gold Coin for the Austin Major, even if the Diamond Coin is out of reach. On the other hand, if you’re still in the running for the fabled Diamond Coin, rest assured that this is shaping up to be one of the rarest Diamond Coins in Pick’Em history.

In this article, we will guide you through the Pick’Ems for Stage 3 of the Austin Major. As always, keep in mind that these picks carry a certain level of risk, and with the volatile form of the participating teams, it can be quite difficult to predict the accurate outcomes of the matchups.

Austin Major Stage 3 Pick’Ems Guide

Before we get started on the Stage 3 Pick’Ems for the Austin Major 2025, it’s important to note that the picks for this stage lock within the next few hours. So, if you’re a Viewer Pass owner and wish to secure your missions, be sure to lock in your picks as soon as possible.

With that being said, here are our picks for the Austin Major Stage 3 Pick’Ems:

  • 3-0 Picks: Vitality, Spirit
  • 3-1 & 3-2 Picks: MOUZ, Aurora, MongolZ, FaZe, NAVI, Legacy
  • 0-3 Picks: Lynn Vision, Nemiga
Austin Major Stage 3 Pick’Ems Guide

Vitality and Spirit are likely the top contenders for the 3-0 slot, with the former being the favorites to win the entire tournament due to their recent win record. MOUZ also has a fair shot at the 3-0 spot, but we’re sticking to the first two here.

Despite their recent wins against the Falcons and B8, Lynn Vision remains the safest option for the 0-3 pick. Nemiga is also one of the top picks for this slot.

Again, the unpredictable nature of BO1s can easily mess up the 3-0 and 0-3 picks, making them some of the riskiest choices in the lineup.

You can replace Legacy with G2 or FURIA in your Pick’Ems, but we decided to include it in our 3-1 and 3-2 slots due to the sheer momentum they’re carrying from Stage 2. For the same reason, it won’t be too surprising if they fail to make it to the Playoffs after dropping a couple of games.

And that concludes our Pick’Ems for Austin Major Stage 3. After you’re done with your picks, be sure to save them by clicking on the green button at the bottom of the screen.

NEMIGA Upsets HEROIC to Reach BLAST.tv Austin Major Stage 3

Nemiga is through to Stage 3 of BLAST.tv Austin Major, having outclassed HEROIC with a 2-0 scoreline. Despite being the underdogs coming into the series, a show of grit and resilience saw the organisation go through to the next stage of the Major, where the big names await.

VETO

  • HEROIC removed Inferno
  • Nemiga removed Nuke
  • HEROIC picked Mirage
  • Nemiga picked Dust2
  • Nemiga removed Anubis
  • HEROIC removed Ancient
  • Train was left over

Map 1: Mirage; Pick: HEROIC; Winner: Nemiga

Losing out on the pistol, Nemiga managed to lose their grip on the game, leading to HEROIC pulling ahead with a string of 6 rounds, but Nemiga did pull in a few rounds back before closing the half. While HEROIC posted a massive lead, the 4 rounds won by Nemiga became the foundation for them to make a comeback. Having won most of the rounds, the Russian side not only managed to level the score, but the final round of the map saw them steal a victory right from the clutches of the Danish side. khaN with 9 AWP kills proved to be instrumental in helping Nemiga secure an early.

Map 2: Dust2; Pick: Nemiga ; Winner: Nemiga

Having secured an important win in Mirage, Nemiga won 7 rounds to open Dust 2 before HEROIC could get on the board. Having won only 3 rounds, they had no choice but to walk into the second half with a massive 9-3 deficit to surmount. As HEROIC continued to get closer, Nemiga’s massive lead gave them enough buffer to ignore a few lost rounds. Having traded a few rounds back and forth, Nemiga managed to push the game over the line.

While this major has seen its fair share of upsets, HEROIC joins the likes of Falcons to be a top side to crash out of the event unexpectedly. It is hard to assume whether the organisation can bounce back, and the post-major roster shuffle will see two of HEROIC’s key pieces in their coach and AWPer SunPayus, join the ranks of G2.
