Little Nightmares III Showcase Announced by Bandai Namco

0

Although the E3 season has faded, major game events continue to emerge, and the next one comes from Bandai Namco. The publisher has announced that Little Nightmares III will receive its spotlight presentation on June 24 at 12 PM PDT (3 PM EDT or June 25 at 12:30 AM IST). This standalone showcase surprises many fans, but it’s a welcome opportunity for the eerie platformer to shine.

The sequel to the psychological horror game drops four years following Little Nightmares II (2021) and was originally announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live in August 2023. Initially set for a release window of 2024, the game was officially delayed to 2025 to give it time to be polished. Although a haunting story trailer was released in October 2024, showcasing its eerie visuals and co-op design, there has been no official word since then.

The showcase threatens to dispel lingering uncertainty by potentially showing off an official release date and perhaps even providing a playable demo. Bandai Namco’s decision to provide the game with its showcase instead of hosting it as part of a big event like Summer Games Fest is a sign of something big on the way, as it was widely believed the game would premiere during a Geoff Keighley–hosted showcase.

One of the most significant changes for this entry is the change in the development studio. Tarsier Studios, the developers of the first two games, left the franchise after its acquisition by Embracer Group in 2019. The series is now being taken care of by Supermassive Games, the British developers from Guildford responsible for narrative-driven horror games like Until Dawn, The Dark Pictures Anthology, and The Quarry. Supermassive also developed the improved edition of Little Nightmares II, laying the groundwork for tackling the complete third installment.

Little Nightmares III follows two new protagonists, Low, sporting a raven mask, and Alone, with pigtails, through “The Nowhere” and out of the foreboding Spiral, a series of deformed, hellish worlds. Players will be able to play the game alone with an AI partner or invite a friend online for co-op, a new feature to the franchise. The game will venture into varied and haunting environments from spooky factories and sinister funfairs to open deserts swarming with giant, monstrous beetles and ghostly giants.

Supermassive Games, currently part of Nordisk Film since 2022, employs around 350 people and boasts a rich heritage of developing interactive horror titles. Although seeing one veteran horror studio inherit from another is uncommon, Supermassive’s previous collaboration on Little Nightmares II and their superior record in the genre make them an apt inheritor.

BLAST Open Season 2 Group Stage Moves Online

BLAST has announced that the group stage of its forthcoming BLAST Open Season 2 will become an online event, with the decisive finals hosted live in London’s OVO Arena Wembley. Taking place from September 5–7, the LAN stage will comprise the top three teams from each of the two groups of online play.

The move to take the group stage online is a departure from the structure employed at the first BLAST Open of the year. Earlier, BLAST held its group games at the Copenhagen Studios prior to taking the top six teams to Lisbon for a live playoff stage. The reason behind the change, whether it is logistical, budgetary, or competitive, has not been publicly mentioned by the organizers.

Some players pointed out that the change affects Valve Regional Standings (VRS), essentially making what used to be an open public LAN opener turn into a closed online qualifying tournament. The online mode gives gravity to these matches, making them critical in shaping which teams qualify for the Wembley finals.

As soon as the group stage is over, spectators will automatically anticipate BLAST Rivals, which is bound to be the sole complete LAN event halfway through the season. Scheduled for November 10–16 at Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld‑Arena, Rivals will host eight teams competing entirely on-stage.

The Season 2 group stage online is set to take place on August 27. Sixteen teams will compete, twelve will qualify directly through Valve’s VRS rankings, and the last four spots will be secured through BLAST Rising regional competitions in Europe, North America, South America, and Asia.

Ahead of Valve’s reforms to tournament formats in 2025, BLAST went the whole way with an open-circuit model. All Open has sixteen teams: twelve ranked highest by VRS and four regional qualifier teams. Combining double-elimination brackets online with big-stakes LAN finals is now BLAST’s trademark.

Prize pools across events have remained consistent, with each Open offering around $400,000. The finals in London follow this model, matching earlier iterations, while BLAST Bounty tournaments (held in Rome and Malta during this cycle) award $500,000.

This calendar ensures global esports engagement year-round: major European LAN finals in mid-year, a peak LAN event in Asia this November, and online stages that feed into those showdowns.

PaiN Kicks Out Furia From Blast.tv Austin Major 2025

In the Brazilian derby set for the quarter-finals of the BLAST.tv Austin Major, the young guns of paiN outlasted a veteran-stacked FURIA side to reach the semi-finals. Clearly, the underdogs coming into the series, paiN has pulled off the second upset of the day, which was also the biggest win the history of the organization, and it was anything but smooth.

VETO

  • paiN removed Train
  • FURIA removed Ancient
  • paiN picked Nuke
  • FURIA picked Anubis
  • FURIA removed Mirage
  • paiN removed Dust2
  • Inferno was left over

Map 1: Nuke; Pick: paiN; Winner: FURIA

Starting on the defense, FURIA had a solid start to Nuke as paiN found it too hard to break their defense, but did manage to rope in 4 rounds before ending the first half. Despite paiN trying their best, the FURIA offense was too sharp for a more inexperienced side as they steamrolled their way to victory. With little experience behind him, molodoy managed to top the charts with a 1.44 IR and 19 kills to his name as FURIA dominated paiN to open the series.

Map 2: Anubis; Pick: FURIA; Winner: paiN

Starting on the offense, paiN managed to pull off the impossible and secure 9 rounds, putting FURIA on the back foot before moving to the defense. Having a big lead of 9-3, paiN had room for error as FURIA found back leading to both teams trading rounds before paiN edged out a win with a 13-8 scoreline. As paiN had their backs against the wall, it was their captain in dav1deuS who led from the front with 19 kills and an IR of 1.54, making sure the series goes to the final map.

Map 3: Inferno; Pick: Decider: Winner: paiN

YEKINDAR’s powerful start to the first half took FURIA to an early lead, but paiN, despite taking a beating, managed to secure 5 rounds to make the game more competitive moving into the second half of the final map. Despite being behind, paiN were the first to reach the series point as FURIA found them needing a comeback, which they pulled off, thus taking the game to overtime. Despite choking 3 rounds in regulation, the inexperienced paiN side let a flawless overtime run to win all of the rounds and secure their place in the semi-finals.

Not only did paiN manage to win the Brazilian derby, but they did so by beating the biggest names of the region, FalleN and KSCERATO. Having secured the biggest win in the organization’s history, they have secured the highest placement in a CS2 Major by any Brazilian team. While one can argue they have had an easy path, waiting for them in the semi-finals will be the winner of FaZe vs. MongolZ, and that will be a challenge of a whole new level.

Marvel Rivals Season 3 Release Date

With the second season of Marvel Rivals rapidly nearing its end, fans of the hero shooter are excited to know more about the game’s upcoming seasons and all the new content that they will bring.

While the highly anticipated Marvel Rivals Season 3 update is still a little ways down the road, fans have already started speculating about all the new changes that it will introduce to the game.

In this article, we will take a look at the expected release date for Marvel Rivals Season 3.

Marvel Rivals Season 3 Release Date

While NetEase has yet to officially confirm the release date for Marvel Rivals Season 3, we can make an educated guess based on the launch patterns of previous seasons.

The devs have previously confirmed that Marvel Rivals Seasons are expected to last for around three months. For the same reason, it’s safe to assume that  Marvel Rivals Season 3 will drop roughly 1.5 months after the release of the mid-season update for Season 2.

Since Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 kicked off on May 30, 2025, it’s reasonable to expect that Season 3 will begin around July 11, 2025.

The Marvel Rivals servers are likely to be taken down for maintenance as the devs ship out the major update to the live servers.

While not much has been revealed regarding the new content in the upcoming season, NetEase is likely to release the Marvel Rivals Season 3 patch notes within the next few weeks.

Is Marvel Rivals Down Right Now? How To Check Server Status

Having trouble connecting to Marvel Rivals servers? You’re not alone—“Is Marvel Rivals down right now?” is one of the first things players search when the game isn’t working for them.

Luckily, there are a number of ways for you to check out the Marvel Rivals server status and identify whether there’s a problem with the game servers or your internet connection is to blame.

Is Marvel Rivals Down Right Now?

If you’re experiencing connection issues when trying to log into Marvel Rivals, then there’s a good chance that the game servers are down.

Although Marvel Rivals servers remain online most of the time, they can temporarily be taken down by NetEase for planned maintenance or major patch deployments.

If that’s the case, your best bet would be to wait for the devs to bring the servers back up since there’s nothing you can do to play Marvel Rivals when it is down.

That said, connectivity issues on your end can also sometimes be mistaken for Marvel Rivals’ servers being down.

In any case, you should always check the Marvel Rivals server status before jumping to conclusions.

How To Check Marvel Rivals Server Status?

The best way to check the Marvel Rivals server status is by checking the game’s social media handles, joining its official Discord server, and via third-party platforms.

Server downtimes are generally announced by the Marvel Rivals X handle prior to the scheduled maintenance. If there’s no post mentioning any scheduled maintenance, you can check third-party platforms like Downdetector to see if other players are reporting similar issues.

If there’s no server outage but you’re still unable to connect to Marvel Rivals, you should try restarting your internet connection to see if it fixes the issue.
