Spinx and flameZ, the Israeli duo took charge of the map as instrumental players for Vitality who helped push the map over the line.

How To Enable True Stretched Resolution in Valorant?

0

The concept of ‘True Stretched’ resolution has always been a hot topic of discussion within the Valorant community. Whether you’re a veteran Counter-Strike player switching to Valorant or a newbie to FPS games, the true stretched resolution can offer you a significant advantage in competitive shooters.

For the uninitiated, the biggest advantage of using a true stretched resolution is that it makes enemy player models appear larger, which can significantly improve your ability to land headshots with greater ease. It can also give you a noticeable boost to your FPS since it renders the game at a lower resolution than your monitor’s native setting.

As a tradeoff, this method has a couple of drawbacks. One drawback is that your screen size at the edges is reduced, which means you might miss enemies lurking on the far sides of your screen—something that has led to some infamously hilarious moments in Counter-Strike.

While there is no innate true stretched resolution available in Valorant, there are a number of methods you can adopt to get a true stretched resolution similar to that of Counter-Strike 2. In this article, we’ll showcase the method that’s easiest to do and doesn’t require any third-party software like ‘winexp’ to execute.

How To Get True Stretched Resolution in Valorant Without Third-Party Software

Below, we’ve listed the easiest method that you can use to get a true stretched resolution in Valorant without using ‘winexp’ or any other third-party software. Using this approach, you can safely get your desired resolution without risking a Vanguard ban on your account.

  • Go to your ‘Device Manager’ by hitting your Windows key and searching for the same. Once there, look for the ‘Monitors’ section, right-click on your monitor, and hit ‘Disable Device’. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to see the screen and everything in it.
  • Right-click on your desktop and go to ‘Nvidia Control Panel’. Go to ‘Change Resolution’ from the left-hand side menu, and hit ‘Customize’.
  • Click ‘Create Custom Resolution’, and enter your desired stretched resolution. Make sure that the ratio between your horizontal and vertical resolution is 1.45:1. We recommend one of the following resolutions: 1568×1080, 1280×882, 1124×768. If you have a 1440p monitor, you can also go ahead and try 1980×1324.
  • Apply your new resolution and launch Valorant.
  • Hit ‘Letterbox’ and apply.
  • Hit ‘Fill’ and apply.

And that’s it! By following these steps, you’ll have successfully switched to a true stretched resolution in Valorant. To see the difference, jump into the Range—you should notice changes in the player models and a boost in FPS.

Don’t worry, your sensitivity and other in-game settings won’t require changing. However, note that since you’re playing on a new FoV, your muscle memory may take some time to adjust. Give yourself a few matches to adapt, and you’ll be back to your best in no time!

            • 9z picked Dust2
            • Astralis picked Inferno
            • 9z banned Ancient
            • Astralis banned Nuke
            • Mirage was left over

Game 1: Dust2 (Pick: 9z, Win: Astralis, Final Score: 13-10)

9z looked to grab a head start on their own map pick after taking the pistol round on the T-side, but a force-buy from Astralis shut them down in their tracks. 9z tried to respond with a force-buy of their own but failed to the superior firepower that Astralis brought, resulting in the latter getting a 3-1 lead. The first full-buy round of the half went to 9z, who managed to grab forcing Astralis into an eco as they equalized the score. However, Astralis retaliated in the following rounds, grabbing the majority of the remaining half to go into their T-side with a slight advantage of 7-5.

Astralis extended their lead by securing the pistol round on the T-side but faltered as 9z countered with a successful force-buy. 9z then strung together several rounds to briefly take the lead. However, Astralis responded with four consecutive round wins, ultimately clinching the game with a 13-10 victory.

Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard dominated the Dust2 leaderboard with an impressive K/D of 25/13.

Game 2: Inferno (Pick: Astralis, Win: Astralis, Final Score: 13-5)

The first half of Inferno was pretty much a one-sided affair, with Astralis dominating on the T-side. After conceding the first two rounds, Astralis bounced back hard, winning every subsequent round to close the half with a commanding 10-2 lead.

After losing the crucial pistol round in the second half, 9z rallied to secure three consecutive rounds. However, Astralis quickly regained composure and closed out the game with a 13-5 victory.

Victor “Staehr” Staehr shined on Inferno with a K/D of 22/11 and an ADR of a whopping 121.7.

sAw Stuns G2 with a 2-0 Win at IEM Cologne

Portuguese team sAw has stunned an in-form G2 on the opening day of IEM Cologne, winning both maps in remarkable fashion which has sent G2 to the lower bracket while they progress to the next round of the tournament.

            Veto

            1. SAW removed Mirage
            2. G2 removed Vertigo
            3. SAW picked Nuke
            4. G2 picked Inferno
            5. SAW removed Ancient
            6. G2 removed Anubis
            7. Dust2 was left over

Map 1: Nuke; Pick: sAw; Winner: sAw

sAw walked into their map pick with a clear game plan, had a read on everything G2 threw at them, and right from the first half of the map, it was clear that this was going to be far from comfortable for G2. Moving away from expectations, G2 posted only 4 rounds on the CT side of Nuke and closed the half with a 4-8 scoreline.

A helpless G2 only posted a single round on the T side but looking at how they were dominated by sAw, it was clear that Nuke was over for them. sAw continued with their domination on the T side and took home their map pick with a heavily one-sided 13-5 scoreline.

Map 2: Inferno; Pick: G2; Winner: sAw

G2 started their map pick with a pistol-round victory upon which sAw got back on the board and took the lead away from them. G2 got back on the board and only let 3 more rounds slip from that point. Being the dominant force on Inferno, G2 posted 7 rounds before moving into the second half.

G2 extended their lead to 5 rounds after winning the pistol round on their defense which put them in a prime position to take it to the third map but sAw with their superior game planning turned things around, posting a streak of 8 rounds without letting G2 get a single round on board and closed the map with a stunning comeback to take down one of the heavy favorites.
