0

The Call of Duty franchise has long been a staple in the gaming community, known for its intense multiplayer modes and competitive gameplay. With the upcoming release of Black Ops 6, fans are eagerly anticipating the introduction of Ranked Play. This article delves into what we know so far about Ranked Play in Black Ops 6, its expected release date, and what players can look forward to.

What is Ranked Play?

Ranked Play is a competitive mode in Call of Duty that allows players to test their skills against others in a structured environment. Unlike casual play, Ranked Play features a ranking system that rewards players for their performance, providing a more intense and rewarding experience. This mode is particularly popular among players who enjoy the competitive aspect of gaming and want to see how they stack up against the best.

History of Ranked Play in Call of Duty

The history of Ranked Play in Call of Duty has been a mixed bag. Some titles have included it from the start, while others have added it later or not at all. Developers like Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games have generally been more supportive of competitive modes, whereas Infinity Ward has been less consistent. Fortunately for fans, Black Ops 6 is developed by Treyarch, which bodes well for the competitive scene.

Release Date for Ranked Play in Black Ops 6

According to the official Call of Duty blog, Ranked Play will be introduced at the start of Season 1 for Black Ops 6. While the exact date for Season 1 has not been confirmed, it is expected to launch around mid-November. This early introduction is a significant move, as previous titles have often delayed the release of Ranked Play, much to the frustration of competitive players.

What to Expect from Ranked Play in Black Ops 6

Black Ops 6 aims to set a new standard for competitive play in the Call of Duty series. Here are some key features to look forward to:

  • Early Access: Ranked Play will be available from the start of Season 1, allowing players to dive into competitive matches right away.
  • Enhanced Ranking System: The game will feature an improved ranking system that accurately reflects player skill and performance.
  • New Maps and Modes: Players can expect a variety of new maps and game modes designed specifically for competitive play.
  • Regular Updates: Treyarch has committed to providing regular updates and balancing changes to ensure a fair and competitive environment.

Why Ranked Play Matters

Ranked Play is more than just a game mode; it’s a community hub for competitive players. It provides a platform for players to showcase their skills, climb the ranks, and earn recognition. For many, it’s the ultimate test of their abilities and a way to engage with the broader Call of Duty community.

Xbox Wireless Headset Gets a Major Upgrade: New Design Features & Discount!

0

Microsoft revealed that a new vision of the Xbox Wireless Headset is available now, starting on October 22nd. The new type comes with improvements in the audio area, longer-lasting batteries, and a higher price.

In an Xbox Wire announcement on the changes done to the headset, the new Bluetooth Headset called the Xbox Wireless Headset is available at $109.99 while the previous one that was called the Xbox One Wireless Headset was available at $99.99

It is also now available to purchase at the Best Buy store and the Microsoft Store.

Leading the enhancements is superior audio quality, as the latest gaming headset supports Dolby Atmos (which is ‘now included at no extra charge,’ as stated by Microsoft), Windows Sonic, and DTS Headphone:X to provide what Xbox claims to be a unique game sound that captures a third dimension in a game vividly.

Xbox Error Code

Moreover, it has a longer battery duration, more specifically Xbox promises up to 20 hours of gameplay. Small print quickly points out in as many words that ‘battery life may vary’ depending on the distance from a console, additional accessories, and usage as well as other unspecified factors.

The microphone has also been upgraded; it has ‘advanced auto-mute and voice isolation’ that records clear sounds on the other side excluding other noise-making sounds.

Finally, the Xbox Wireless Headset has been revamped for ‘comfort’ adding an adjustable headband, soft ear pads, and controls on the ears. Hopefully, in the coming days, we will drop a detailed review of the headphones.

So, if you want to get a detailed review (and gift a pair of headphones to a struggling author) you should probably share this article with your friends! Until next time, stay tuned to Talkesport.

Nadeshot to Undergo Eye Surgery for Pellucid Marginal Degeneration

Popular streamer and former professional Call of Duty player Nadeshot has recently announced that he requires eye surgery due to a condition called Pellucid Marginal Degeneration (PMD). He had been complaining about troubles with his vision for months, particularly while playing Valorant on his Twitch channel.

Founder of the 100 Thieves, Nadeshot has always been enthusiastic about Valorant but has had to endure a number of hassles concerning being unable to see opponents during gameplay. He has tried various solutions – changing the monitor he buys and setting his system differently, but nothing seems to crack the problem that tormented him with his vision.

If you watch the stream, I’ve been consistently complaining about not being able to see well. It led me down a dark path of buying different OLED monitors, trying to play in 1440p, putting the monitor as close to my face as I could physically possibly get it.”

Nadeshot

Following advice by optometrists, Nadeshot was found with PMD – a condition that causes bulging thinning of the cornea. That is quite common for men within the age range of 20 to 40 years.

“It’s all types of f**ked up. I need to get a procedure called crosslinking, they put vitamins in my eye, and they harden it with UV,” Nadeshot said via a post on X/Twitter

Nadeshot also related that he will probably have to wear “hard contacts” for the rest of his life. He joked about the situation by jokingly saying he’s “legally blind,” but it should be noted that PMD does not cause blindness; indeed, it causes blurry vision and is a progressively worsening condition if left unchecked.

Dota 2 Stuck on Confirming Match Bug: How To Fix

Despite being over a decade old, Dota 2 is still not completely free from bugs. Among the many bugs that players can encounter in Dota 2 to this day, the ‘confirming match’ bug remains one of the most frustrating issues.

Upon encountering this issue, players get stuck on the ‘confirming match’ section when trying to find a game. As a result, you’ll not only be unable to join a game of Dota 2 but you may also be temporarily banned from matchmaking if you decide to cancel the search.

Are you facing the infamous ‘confirming match’ bug in Dota 2? We have you covered. Here’s everything you need to know on how to fix this problem when you queue for your next game.

How To Fix Dota 2 Stuck on Confirming Match Glitch

RAMZES and Gorgc clash in heated Dota 2 rivalry.

The ‘confirming match’ bug in Dota 2 is primarily caused by issues with Valve servers, so there’s not much you can do to fix this problem. However, there are certain things you should know that will prevent you from getting temporarily banned from queuing.

The first thing you should keep in mind if you’re encountering this issue is to not cancel the queue when you’re seeing the ‘Confirming Match’ text on your screen. If you cancel an ongoing search when you see the ‘Confirming Match’ text pop up, you will get penalized.

If your game is stuck on confirming and you want to cancel the queue, your best bet is to wait for a few minutes till the text changes to ‘Finding Match’ and then cancel it.

If you feel that the problem might be caused by your internet connection, it might be a good idea to restart your router before relaunching Dota 2.

Fortnite Remix Chapter 2 OG Season Coming Soon

0

As curtains fall on Chapter 5 Season 4, Fortnite fans are set for a nostalgia trip back in time. The latter mini-season, labeled “Fortnite Remix,” will bring with it a fresh spin on the experience of Chapter 2.

Like last season, Remix will serve as a bridge between Chapters 5 and 6. Unlike last season, though, this throwback season is going to have rapid progression on the iconic Chapter 2 map with its revamped battle pass showing off iconic skins from that era.

The only known addition for the battle pass within the Remix is the updated TNTina – one of the fan-favorite skins coming back from Chapter 2’s early days. In addition to it, rumors point out another mash-up from two of the other most-loved characters from those days – Midas and Meowscles. Apparently, people have some predictions about the possible actual cross-over since one of the most popular likings regarding it is the golden edition of Meowscles.

Beyond skins, the Remix will bring back a variety of in-game items and features that fans will be familiar with. Skins for Boogie Bombs, Boom Boxes, and the Butterfly are confirmed. For the nostalgia to be complete, the season will feature remixed music for in-game.

Although these are reports based on leaks and teasers, they paint a compelling picture of what Fortnite Remix has to offer. Days going by towards the mini-season release will bring in more news about the same, exciting fans with what is coming.

Valorant Episode 9 Act 3 Patch Notes Revealed: Gekko Changes, Sunset Updates & More

0

With less than a day remaining for the release of Valorant Episode 9 Act 3, Riot Games has revealed the patch notes for the upcoming update.

The Valorant 9.08 patch is set to introduce a bunch of exciting new changes to the competitive shooter, including significant tweaks to Gekko, updates to the Sunset B-site and middle area, a change in the competitive map pool, and much more.

There’s something for fans of cosmetics as well, as the new Act will bring with it a fresh Battle Pass containing a number of new skin lines alongside the Doombringer bundle.

Valorant Episode 9 Act 3 Patch Notes

Without further ado, let’s check out the detailed patch notes of the Valorant Episode 9 Act 3 update, as officially revealed by Riot Games.

ALL PLATFORMS

AGENT UPDATES

Gekko

As you have mastered Gekko’s utility since his last buff in patch 7.12, we’ve noticed that his core play pattern of using and reclaiming his buddies has little to no downside. These changes to his globules put pressure on Gekko to more quickly reclaim them, and also allow for more counterplay for Gekko’s opponents to punish him if he’s too reckless.

Dizzy and Wingman are each getting improvements to their overall reliability to reduce cases where you hear or see them target and debuff an enemy, only to find that the enemy is unaffected. These changes are targeted at addressing inconsistent behavior rather than a direct power increase for Gekko.

Dizzy is in a healthy state in terms of how often you successfully engage in its shooting counterplay, but we feel that Dizzy holds space and angles for too long. Additionally, given Gekko’s overall number of plants and defuses with WingmanThrash is available too frequently for its impact.

We hope these changes don’t wildly affect Gekko’s place in the ecosystem, but instead put him in a healthier long-term place.

  • Globules
    • Reduced time in world 20s >>> 15s
    • Reclaim time increased 1s >>> 1.5s
  • Dizzy
    • Time active after being thrown and forming is reduced 1.5s >>> 1s.
    • Dizzy’s targeting algorithm has been updated to be more reliable.
    • Dizzy’s goop flash now also blinds the minimap of affected players.
  • Wingman
    • Increased the angle of the cone concuss area 45 degrees >>> 65 degrees.
    • When Wingman turns into a globule after planting the Spike there are unique visuals.
  • Thrash
    • Ultimate points increased 7 >>> 8

Yoru

Various abilities were not showing effects on Yoru’s Fakeout clone, which made it too easy to discern it from the real Yoru. We are going through abilities in the game and making sure they interact properly with Yoru’s Fakeout.

  • Blind abilities like Gekko’s Dizzy and Vyse’s Arc Rose will now display the blind effect on Yoru’s Fakeout clone as if he was a real Agent.
  • Vyse will play her Successful Blind celebration lines when blinding Yoru’s Fakeout clone.
  • Cypher’s Neural Theft will show the Yoru’s Fakeout clone.
  • Clove’s Meddle will now show the decay effect on Yoru’s Fakeout clone.

Skye and Jett

  • Jett’s Tailwind  and Skye’s Trailblazer will no longer stop at the window in Ascent. Instead, they will bust through and continue movement onto the other side.

COSMETICS UPDATES

  • We’ve made some updates to several scope reticles to make them more clean and less distracting. Here is the list of updated skins: Araxys Operator, Valiant Hero Operator, Reaver Operator, Gothic Marshal. Thanks to Derke for the feedback!

MAP UPDATES

Valorant Episode 9 Act 3

Introducing “Glitch”, VALORANT’s Newest Team Deathmatch Map

  • A 5v5 map that puts you in a dual-themed arena. This is the 5th TDM map and takes place in a “glitched out” Maxbot arena.
  • Glitch is playable via the “Team Deathmatch” game mode queue.

Map Rotations

  • Pearl and Split are BACK in the COMPETITIVE QUEUE
  • Icebox and Lotus are OUT of the COMPETITIVE QUEUE

Sunset

We’re updating Sunset’s B Site to address defensibility, post plant, and provide more ways to play on site. The B Main pivot box was adding a ton of pressure during post plant so we’ve opted to simplify the cover here. You can still play B Main during post plant, but it should now be easier to manage for retakers. A particular Cypher trip has also been removed with these changes.

  • B Main
    • Before
    • After
  • B Main Exterior
    • Before
    • After
  • B Site
    • Before
    • After
  • B Site Back

Netflix Pull the Plug on Their Gaming Studio

0

The biggest names from Netflix’s gaming studio have parted ways with the organization leaving the community baffled who expected something to come out of it having hired industry veterans back in 2023.

Netflix initially sold the news to fans labeling their project to be focused on AAA titles but nothing has come out of it in a year and with top officials leaving, there is little that they can do to protect the project.

“In my work life, there’s nothing I love more than collaborating with others to build worlds filled with iconic characters, deep mysteries, and endless adventures,” Staten told IGN at the time. “So today, I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve joined Netflix Games as creative director for a brand-new triple-A multiplatform game and original IP. Let’s go!” said Joseph Staten at the time of joining the organization.

netflix aaa game

Netflix has not disclosed why the decision was taken but several reports indicate that their focus was heavily inclined towards mobile games and developing a AAA title for other platforms would require significant resources.

Despite all this, Netflix’s gaming was essentially a side venture in the grand scheme of things for the company. From what it seems, they have stuck to their mobile games as dreams for AAA titles seem far-fetched now.
