Is Valorant Available on PS5? Everything You Need to Know

0

VALORANT, the popular tactical shooter developed by Riot Games, has officially launched on PlayStation 5. This game first appeared on PC on June 2, 2020, and it quickly gained a massive following due to its unique blend of character abilities and precise gunplay. Now, console players can join in on the action.

Overview of VALORANT

VALORANT is a free-to-play game that pits two teams of five against each other. The objective is to win rounds in a best-of-24 format, where one team attacks while the other defends. Players choose from a roster of agents, each with their own special abilities. This adds a layer of strategy to the gameplay. The game is known for its high-stakes matches and competitive nature.

Availability on PS5

As of July 26, 2024, VALORANT is available on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This release marks the end of its open beta phase. During the beta, players were able to experience the game while providing feedback to improve it. Riot Games has expressed confidence in delivering a high-quality experience for console players after gathering insights from the beta period.

Features for Console Players

The PS5 version of VALORANT has been tailored specifically for console gameplay. Here are some key features:

  • Custom Controls: The game includes a new shooting mode called Focus, which allows players to shoot from the hip while maintaining control over their aim. This is different from the PC version, where hip-fire is the primary shooting mode.
  • Adapted Agent Abilities: Some abilities have been adjusted for console controls to ensure smooth gameplay.
  • Cross-Progression: Players can enjoy shared inventory and progression across PC and console. This means that any skins or battle pass progress made on one platform will carry over to the other.

Competitive Integrity

One notable aspect of VALORANT on consoles is that there will be no cross-play between PC and console players. This decision was made to maintain competitive integrity, as the gameplay experience varies between mouse-and-keyboard and controller setups. However, players on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S can compete against each other.

Gameplay Experience

Playing VALORANT on PS5 offers several advantages:

  • Enhanced Graphics: The PS5’s capabilities allow for improved graphics and smoother gameplay.
  • Accessibility: Console players can now access this popular title without needing a gaming PC.
  • Community Engagement: With millions of players already engaged in VALORANT on PC, console players can join a vibrant community.

Future Developments

Riot Games plans to continue expanding VALORANT’s reach. They are monitoring player feedback and performance to ensure that future updates meet community expectations. The goal is to provide an uncompromising competitive experience that matches what PC players have enjoyed since launch.

Additionally, Riot has hinted at developing a mobile version of VALORANT. Although details are scarce, they aim to deliver a similar competitive experience suitable for mobile devices.

VALORANT is now available on PlayStation 5, bringing its thrilling tactical gameplay to console players. With custom controls, shared progression between platforms, and a focus on maintaining competitive integrity, VALORANT aims to provide an engaging experience for all players. Whether you are new to the game or a veteran from the PC version, there is much to look forward to as you dive into this exciting world of tactical shooting.

The 9-3 Curse in Valorant: Myth or Reality?

0

The 9-3 curse in Valorant is a fascinating topic that has captured the attention of players and fans alike. This superstition suggests that when a team leads with a score of 9-3, they are highly likely to lose the match. This belief has grown in popularity, especially among professional players and the community. In this article, we will explore the origins of the 9-3 curse, its implications, and why it continues to be a topic of discussion.

What is the 9-3 Curse in Valorant?

The 9-3 curse refers to a situation in Valorant where one team has won nine rounds, while the opposing team has only won three. This scoreline often occurs at halftime in matches. Players believe that teams leading by this score are at a high risk of losing the game. This phenomenon has been observed frequently in competitive play, leading many to treat it as more than just a coincidence.

Origins of the Curse

The term “9-3 curse” became popular during the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) events in 2021. A notable match between teams DRX and FPX showcased a dramatic comeback when FPX was down 9-3. They managed to turn the game around and win, which sparked discussions about this peculiar trend. The idea resonated with many players, leading to widespread acknowledgment of the curse within the community.

Why Does It Happen?

Several factors contribute to the belief in the 9-3 curse:

  1. Psychological Pressure: When a team reaches a 9-3 lead, they might become overconfident. This overconfidence can lead to mistakes and misjudgments in gameplay. On the other hand, the trailing team may gain motivation from their underdog status and play more aggressively.
  2. Momentum Shifts: In competitive games like Valorant, momentum can shift quickly. If a team that is behind starts winning rounds, they can build confidence and pressure on their opponents. This change can lead to significant comebacks.
  3. Memorable Comebacks: Many comebacks from a 9-3 deficit tend to be dramatic and memorable, making them stick in players’ minds. These stories are often shared and discussed within the community, reinforcing the belief in the curse.
  4. Statistical Evidence: While some argue that statistics do not support the existence of a curse, there have been instances where teams leading 9-3 have lost matches. For example, during various VCT events, several teams with this lead failed to secure a win.

Professional Players’ Perspectives

Many professional players acknowledge the 9-3 curse as a real phenomenon. Notable players like ShahZaM and TenZ have mentioned it in interviews and streams. They often discuss strategies to avoid falling into this trap when holding a 9-3 lead. Some even suggest intentionally allowing their opponents to win an extra round to avoid reaching that scoreline.

Counteracting the Curse

To combat the psychological effects of the 9-3 curse, teams can adopt several strategies:

  • Stay Focused: Players should maintain focus and not let their guard down after gaining a lead.
  • Adapt Strategies: Teams should be ready to adapt their strategies based on how their opponents respond rather than relying on their initial success.
  • Communication: Keeping open lines of communication among teammates can help maintain morale and focus during critical moments.

The 9-3 curse in Valorant is more than just a superstition; it reflects human psychology and competitive dynamics within gaming. While statistical analysis may show that leading by 9-3 does not guarantee a loss, the mental aspect cannot be overlooked. Players must navigate both their own confidence and that of their opponents when facing this peculiar situation. As long as competitive gaming exists, superstitions like the 9-3 curse will continue to thrive. Whether it is real or just a myth, it serves as an intriguing reminder of how psychological factors can influence performance in high-stakes environments like Valorant matches.

Valorant to Marvel Rivals Sens: How to Convert Your Sensitivity

Marvel Rivals has taken the gaming community by storm since its launch on December 6, 2024. With an impressive 400,000 concurrent players within hours of release, this multiplayer sensation is attracting gamers from across the globe. Many Valorant players are among those making the switch, but one challenge stands out: optimizing their sensitivity settings for Marvel Rivals.

Correct sensitivity settings are crucial to ensuring smooth gameplay. This article provides a step-by-step guide to converting your Valorant sensitivity to Marvel Rivals, ensuring a seamless transition.

Why Sensitivity Settings Matter in Marvel Rivals

Mouse sensitivity plays a critical role in how comfortable and accurate your gameplay feels. A poorly optimized sensitivity can lead to frustration and negatively impact performance. Unlike Valorant, Marvel Rivals has a different sensitivity scaling system, which means you’ll need to adjust your settings to maintain consistency.

How to Convert Your Valorant Sensitivity for Marvel Rivals

Here’s a simple formula to transfer and convert your sensitivity from Valorant to Marvel Rivals:

  1. Start with your Valorant sensitivity value.
For example, if your Valorant sensitivity is 0.5, use this as your baseline.
  2. Multiply the Valorant value by 3.2.
This gives you the equivalent sensitivity value for Marvel Rivals. For instance:0.5×3.2=1.60.5 \times 3.2 = 1.60.5×3.2=1.6
  3. Adjust for precision if needed.
If you get a decimal like 2.24, round it to the nearest tenth (e.g., 2.2). Alternatively, if the value is 2.56, round it up to 2.6.
  4. Set horizontal and vertical sensitivity values.
    • Start by using the same value for both horizontal and vertical sensitivity.
    • Optionally, tweak the vertical sensitivity by reducing it by 30-40% to suit your playstyle.

Pro Tip: Fine-Tune to Your Preference

While the formula provides an excellent starting point, personal preferences vary. Spend time testing your settings in a practice session within Marvel Rivals to find what feels most natural for you.

Switching from Valorant to Marvel Rivals doesn’t have to be daunting. By using the formula above and experimenting with small adjustments, you can ensure your sensitivity settings enhance your performance in this action-packed title.

As of January 24, 2025, Free Fire does not support 120 FPS (frames per second) on mobile devices. The game is designed to run at a maximum of 60 FPS on smartphones. This limitation ensures compatibility across a wide range of devices, including those with lower hardware specifications.

However, players seeking a higher frame rate can achieve up to 120 FPS by playing Free Fire on a PC using Android emulators like BlueStacks. BlueStacks, a popular Android app player for PC, has introduced support for 120 FPS gaming in Free Fire.

This feature is available when running the game on an Android 11 instance within the emulator. To enable this, users need to adjust the performance settings in BlueStacks, allocating sufficient CPU cores and RAM, and activating the high frame rate option. This setup allows for a smoother and more responsive gaming experience on PC.

For mobile gamers, achieving higher FPS in Free Fire is limited by the game’s design and the hardware capabilities of their devices. New Indestructible Cypher Trips Bug Found in Valorant

0

Only a couple of months have passed since Cypher received some major nerfs in Valorant patch 9.10, and the Moroccan Sentinel has once again found himself hitting the headlines as players discovered a game-breaking bug that rendered his trips indestructible to certain Agent abilities.

The new Cypher trip bug enables him to place his trip in certain parts of maps to make them completely indestructible from Agent abilities like Sova’s Shock Bolts or Raze’s Paint Shells.

While the trips can be destroyed with guns, they can still put the Attacking team at a massive disadvantage when they are executing on a site.

So what is this new indestructible Cypher trip bug, and how does it work? Let’s find out.

Valorant Episode 10 Indestructible Cypher Trips Bug Explained

The game-breaking Cypher bug was first brought to light by analyst ‘hoverboarD’ in an X (formerly Twitter) post.

The attached video showcases the indestructible Cypher trips in action.

In the video, we can see that the Sova shock darts are unable to break the Cypher trips when they are placed on the orange boxes on Fracture.

These indestructible trips can also be replicated on the orange boxes located on the B-site of Pearl.

In addition to Sova’s shock darts, these trips cannot be destroyed by Raze’s utility like Paint Shells or Blast Pack. However, Jett and Neon can still break them with their ultimates.

So if you see a Cypher on your enemy team in your future ranked games, take extra caution when heading into sites, even if you feel like your Sova has cleared trips with their darts.

Needless to say, the Valorant community is urging Riot to fix this issue as soon as possible.
