Xerxia Defeats Team Secret to Qualify for VCT Masters Copenhagen

Xerxia, the runner-up of the last VCT APAC Challengers, managed to repeat their feat and qualify for the VCT Masters second time in a row by defeating Team Secret at Valorant Champions Tour APAC Challengers.

The Thai Xerxia has been a constant name on the International scene for the longest time. In the current APAC stage, Xerxia soared through their group stage, winning both the games 2-0.

But the playoff run started slowly, where they lost to the Filipino Team Secret in the opening match.

In the lower bracket, they showed resilience and beat BOOM and BLEED in hard-fought games. While facing ONIC G to qualify for the lower final, Xerxia managed to do quick work of ONIC G, beating them 2-0.

In the lower finals, they faced Team Secret with a chance to take revenge for the opening match. The match started on Xerxia’s Haven. With Team Secret on the attack, Xerxia could not contain Team Secret, and they lost the half 3-9. Team Secret continued their domination and won the game 13-3.

Now on the back foot, Xerxia played Team Secret’s map pick Ascent and, despite a strong start, only managed to get one more round over Team Secret, closing the half 7-5.

The Second half started Xerxia’s way, and they quickly managed to find the match point. Team Secret displayed resistance, but Xerxia managed to win the map 13-10 forcing the decider.

On Icebox, Xerxia’s attack completely broke Team Secret’s defense, winning the first half 8-4. They managed to minimize Team Secret’s damage in the second half, winning the map 13-8 to win the game 2-1, completing their revenge.

With this win, Xerxia qualifies for the VCT Masters Copenhagen and would play Paper Rex in the VCT APAC Challengers later today. The tournament winner would win $30k and the top seed from APAC.
