Valorant: 100 Thieves release steel, joins T1

The 31 year-old Canadian finds a new home at T1 Valorant as the South Korean-American organization now expands to a six-man roster.

T1 on Twitter have announced the addition of Joshua “steel” Nissan to their active Valorant division and would be their new-ingame leader for the 2022 pro season. This move has indeed raised many eyes as the roster is expected to undergo changes for the forthcoming pro season as a couple of reports have suggested that Timothy “autimatic” Ta plans to exit Valorant and might come out of reti

Having previously played for 100 Thieves, Steel joins T1 Valorant after spending a year under the leadership of Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella and was replaced by Aaron “b0i” Thao on the main roster. 100 Thieves under steel never really found themselves at the top but have always managed to showcase top-mid table finishes with their lone triumph coming over at the First Strike : North America following an appearance at the Stage 3 Masters Berlin where they were denied a spot further by their regional counterparts, Team Envy. Soon after he was moved to the bench ahead of the North American LCQ towards the VCT Champions Berlin

At T1, the ex-Counter Strike veteran reunites with his former teammate Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham from Global Offensive with whom he played under the banner of Team iBUYPOWER. With the addition of steel and Ha “Spyder” Jung-woo on the bench, T1 are yet to evaluate their options ahead of the next season with autimatic to leave Valorant as reports suggest.

In a press release, David Dennis, head coach of T1 Valorant stated,

Josh has an impressive record as an IGL. We really wanted a strong leader, strong voice and someone who can bring a lot of direction to the team. We are really excited to lock him as the IGL of the team.
