Cloud9 on Twitter have announced that they have parted ways with their IGL Daniel “vice” Kim from their Valorant Division.

The North American organization underwent a roster change amidst a string of poor results across the VCT Qualifier events where Cloud9 Blue were unable to make it to the Masters event of the same.

Vice who laid the foundation of C9’s Blue Valorant division alongside Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo who recently joined Sentinels will no longer feature in the team’s starting five. He is expected to be replaced by Michael ‘Poiz’ Possis who had been brought on board by the team as their sixth player till the team finds itself a new Captain. We might witness Skyler ‘Relyks’ Weaver taking up the reigns of Daniel’s as the IGL while Poiz might transition in the roles of those as Vice’s. The probability of the latter outcome is still unclear, now in the absence of TenZ whether the team might explore their options for a replacement or inculcate a change in the roles within the players.

The departure of Josh “shinobi” Abastado saw Vice stepping up as Cloud9 Blue’s Captain which was indeed short-lived as the team was unable to bring home a championship. Despite a plethora of top-three finishes, including the ones at Pop Flash and PAX Arena Invitational, the team saw it imminent to reconsider their lineup’s core ahead of Valorant Champions Tour’s second leg.

  • kyler ‘Relyks’ Weaver
