PLAYER1 apologizes for accusing Mika Daime of cheating in Valorant

The Gen.G star resorted to Twitter to explain his side of things which was followed by an apology afterwards.

Filipino content creator Mika Daime found herself amid heavy controversy over the past few days. The Valorant streamer was accused by professional players like Keven “PLAYER1” Champagne and Matt ‘Wardell’ Yu of cheating in the competitive shooter.

The suspicious clip which ignited the allegations soon made their way to social media platforms where the accusations increased further.

When the situation started getting out of hand, Riot decided to intervene. They ran a manual investigation on the issue and the results came out in favor of the streamer.

Normally, we don’t want to add to the publicity of any individual case, but because this one’s getting a little out of hand: Mika is innocent,” a Riot Dev confirmed. “We’ve completed a thorough investigation of Mika’s gameplay, and while the clips might be suspicious individually, we’re confident that cheating software was not utilized for the accused sessions.

However, fans continued to bash Riot on their decision and continued accusing Daime for aimbot and wallhacks.

It appears like the controversy might come to a halt now, as Gen.G star PLAYER1 himself has apologized to Daime after explaining why he thought she was cheating.

“I didn’t know my words could blow out of proportion like that and I will definitely be more careful onward,” the 25-year-old said in a tweet. “She doesn’t deserve the hate coming to her and I do apologize for that, sorry.”
