OpTic Gaming add cajunb, remove refrezh

Optic, the Danish team, have added René “cajunb” Borg to replace Ismail “refrezh” Ali in the active roster.

The move was announced by Mathias “MSL” Lauridsen on his Twitlonger, explaining that the former Cloud-9 stand-in seemed like a better fit for the team and “finally clicked in-game” following a turbulent period of 4 months due to mixed results and failing to qualify for the Europe Minor.

MSL placed emphasis on the Optic situation. He spoke about how about the lineup is looking for an organisation to represent them after Immortals Gaming Club bought out OpTic’s brand for their Call of Duty Pro League slot. This created a conflict of interest as an organisation cannot own two Counter-Strike teams and IGC are owners of MiBR. Thus, leaving the Danes homeless. He added that only three of the players had a buyout associated with them and the other two, cajunb and teses, are free agents.

The team has set its goal to break the Top 10 HLTV rankings in the next 4 months.

The new lineup which OpTic will feature after the changes will be:

  • Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke
  • Mathias “MSL” Lauridsen
  • Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen
  • Rene “TeSeS” Madsen
  • René “cajunb” Borg
