CSGO Team Vitality Fined $10,000 for Stream Sniping During Tournament

The ESIC has issued a fine of $10,000 to CSGO team Vitality for stream-sniping during the BLAST Premier Global Final, which is in direct violation of the ESIC code.

During their matchup against team Liquid, many viewers had spotted a screen displaying the livestream of the game behind the Vitality players. An investigation from the ESIC followed that was aided by the tournament organizers.

The ESIC statement released on January 23rd states that they didn’t find any “malicious intent in its examination of evidence.” However, “ESIC’s zero tolerance approach mandates accountability from the organisation for the breach,” the statement said.

Vitality secured a 2-0 win over Liquid during their January 22nd match, with the latter dropping to the lower bracket as a result of the loss.

Liquid will take on Na’Vi in the lower bracket finals today while Vitality takes on Astralis, who secured a narrow 2-1 win over G2 to attain its spot.
