Cowsep banned from League Of Legends Wild Rift

Riot permanently bans Wild Rift ID of famous League of Legends streamer Cowsep for possibly using emulator.

Popular League of Legends streamer Cowsep has been banned from League of Legends: Wild Rift with no actual reason stated. His account has been banned permanently for the use of “prohibited third-party software” and this ban comes as a surprise for the fans and Cowsep himself. It is being speculated that the ban is imposed due to the use of emulator.

Joseph Osceola “Cowsep” Hursey is a well-known League of Legends streamer with about 700K followers on Twitch and YouTube. Currently residing in South Korea, he had an opportunity to try his hands on the new Riot Games title, League of Legends: Wild Rift.

This mobile game has recently entered its open beta testing for selective regions including Korea and hence, Cowsep got easy access to this game.

Wild Rift is one of the most awaited mobile games of this year and since this game is in its beta stages, the access has been limited. The players who still wanted to play this game used various methods to download the game via VPN and Riot blocked such players.

When Cowsep’s account was banned, this could have been considered as the potential reason but since he lives in South Korea, it is highly unlikely.

When a Twitter user asked if Cowsep has ever used Emulator, he admits that he has tried it once and hence, it can also be speculated to be a reason for the permaban. If this ban has been imposed because of emulator usage, it will be the first known case of such an imposition by Riot Games concerning Wild Rift.

Riot has never clarified their stance on emulator players and considering the fact that Wild Rift is the portable version of their world-famous title League of Legends, it is highly possible that Riot may not entertain emulator players in the future.
