The last update of Among Us was one of the biggest updates of the game in 2021. The latest update introduced many new aspects to the viral hit formula of the game. The update also brought in microtransactions with the inclusion of in-game currency that can be used to purchase cosmetics and Battle Pass known as Cosmicubes.
There are two types of currency available in-game — Beans and Stars. Beans are the most common type of currency which you will amass as you play the game through public or private lobbies. Whereas, Stars is a premium currency that can only be bought with real money. Stars can only be purchased through the in-game shop via the Stars tab. The prices for Stars in USD are currently the following:
- 20 Stars $1.99
- 30 Stars $2.99
- 50 Stars $4.99
- 110 Stars $9.99
- 300 Stars $24.99
Stars can be used to purchase bundles in the shop. These bundles include sets of cosmetic items, maps, and more. Stars can also be used to purchase Cosmicubes which contain unique items that can be unlocked using Pods earned through gameplay.
Do note that these bundles and cosmicubes will change from time to time. Basically the sets you see today might not be available again after a week or month. While developers say most stuff will eventually come back to shop after a certain time period, some time-limited items will never return to the shop once removed.
Among Us is available now on PC, Switch, and mobile devices. While the console version for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S is currently in development.
