WWE may consider a deal with EA for its future games

-

While WWE 2K22 is going to be released on 11th March 2022, the future of this franchise may take a turn. According to a report by Fightful, WWE is talking to EA for developing the future WWE games with Electronic Arts. Therefore, the correlation between WWE and the 2K Games may come to an end.

WWE 2K is basically a wrestling video game developed by 2K Games. The game was developed by THQ till 2012 while the name was WWE Smackdown and 2K took the scourge from 2013 and renamed it to WWE 2K. This game is the most popular WWE game and is available on almost every platform.

Multiple sources have stated that WWE has had preliminary discussions with EA about bringing the WWE games line over to one of the top gaming publishers in the world

Fightful Report

Are you wondering why WWE is suddenly trying to hand over the AAA franchise to EA? Apparently, the reason is the immense negative reviews of WWE 2K20. As a result, the WWE brand image got damaged and a record low sale battered the revenue stream.

The latest successor of the WWE 2K series will be released just after a few days and the fate of the reciprocity between WWE and 2K will depend on the reviews, ratings, and sales of WWE 2K22.
