Valorant: The Current Kings Of South Asia

-

As we know the group stage of the Skyesports Champions Series concluded and we got the first set of matches and an overall look at the competition. We might not have a clear winner for this tournament but it’d be a great week of South Asian Valorant and that’s for sure.

Let’s look at the teams one by one, to begin with, let’s start with The first seed and the undefeated team of Group A, Enigma Gaming.

Enigma Gaming currently is supposedly one of the strongest teams in South Asian Valorant.

The team is currently coached by the german Lukas “YB” Groning and he seems to have a great impact on the team’s performance.

The team is led by Sabyasachi “Antidote” Bose who usually plays a support role in the team and has been playing controller for the team. Akram “Rawfiul” Virani, is the primary operator for the team usually playing Chamber and Jett. Karan “excali” Mhaswadkar, is the Raze main for the team and also playing support agent when the team plays Jett as the duelist.

Rishi “RvK” Vijayakumar is the team’s Flex/Sova. While Tejas “Rexy” Kotain plays support. Enigma’s best quality has to be its flexibility and adaptability and they always manage to close out maps from a critical position, They surely are the contenders for the trophy and would make a great South Asian representative.

Orangutan is like the new heavyweight in town, They are an Indian-based Multi-Asian roster and have absolutely dominated the RoSA qualifiers and won without dropping a single map.

In the group stage, they managed to win all their games except for VLT where they dwindled but I know for sure they’d not make the same mistakes again.

The Ape army has Pakistan’s Mustafa “shooteR” Kamal, their main duelist, who is one of the most impressive young talents from South Asia. He always manages to find the impact on the server. Vibhor “Vibhorr” Vaid is the controller of the team and has some impressive rounds, to say the least, Vibhorr was one of the most impactful players for Velocity Gaming in VCT APAC 1.

Pradeep “Ghost” Bhatia is the team’s flex and he does the job well, While Jon Michael “tesseract” Piga is Ape Army’s Sova main and one of the most impressive Sova’s in the tournament. He is a clutch player and a very resourceful sova, to say the least.

The team’s rounded by the Korean Sentinel Yang “Persia” Zi-on, who is a great site anchor for the team. With such an impressive line-up and one of the first and most successful multi-Asian rosters, Orangutan surely is going to be a force to be reckoned with on LAN.

Coming to the second seed of Group A, Global Esports is a household name, and consists of the face of South Asian valorant in SkRossi, Along with Velocity gaming, they were the last season’s representative for South Asia. Despite the 3-2 run in the group stage, GE still is one of the top three teams in the region along with VLT and Enigma Gaming.

The team brought in Damwon Gaming’s coach Hong “Eraser” Chang-Pyo, With Bhavin “HellRanger” Kotwani leading the team as a flex player. The team seems to have a great start to all its games and has amazing strategies. Jayanth “skillZ” Ramesh, plays the controller and is a site anchor and usually plays a real key in winning the rounds, Akshay “Kappa” Sinkar is the in-house Sova main for the team and really plays the role to the most.

While Abhirup “LightiningFast” Chaudhary is the secondary duelist/Support for the team the main duelist and currently Chamber/Jett main is Ganesh “SkRossi” Gangadhar, a man who needs no introduction as he is one of the most adored South Asian players there are. Pranav “Kohliii” Kohli is the sixth man for the team and usually plays support.

Global Esports is still a favorite for many and has a large supportive fan base and it would not be wrong to say that most fans would love to see them representing South Asia in APAC.

Now coming onto the second seat of Group B, The second team from the fabled Val-Classico, Velocity Gaming were the champions of the Valorant Conqueror Championship and the first seed from South Asia in last season’s VCT APAC challengers.

VLT is a force to be reckoned with, led by  Anuj “Amaterasu” Sharma a flex player, and coached by Nikhil “Sieh” Bhansali. Amaterasu is a superb flex player with Tejas “rite2ace” Sawant and Sangnik “hellf” Roy to make the strongest Trio in South Asian Valorant. While rite2Ace plays controller and has some crazy clutches, hellf plays sentinel and can hold a site like a boss.

The roster is completed by Debajan “Deathmaker” Das and Mohit “mw1” Wakle play interchangeable roles playing duelists or Chamber.

The team only lost to Pakistan’s Full Power Gaming, in a close series. Still, Global Esports is one of the strongest contenders and with LAN experience has a great chance of winning it all representing South Asia in APAC.
