ESL announces IEM Chicago 2019

Electronic Sports League (ESL), one of the largest esports tournament organizer has announced the 2019 edition of Intel Extreme Masters: Chicago after it’s inaugural edition in 2018. This will be the 76th Intel Extreme Masters event. It will take place at the United Centre from July 18-21. Four teams each from America and Europe will be divided into two groups with $250,000 USD on the line.

IEM is hinting towards a battle between the two continents and teams are expected to be divided based upon the region. IEM Chicago will follow best of three GSL format for the group stages and two teams from each group will advance to playoffs. Semi finale will also be a best of three encounters while the grand finale being a five maps clash.
