FaZe Clan Qualify for PGL Major After G2 Beats Fiend

FaZe Clan

FaZe Clan have confirmed their spot as Contenders at the PGL Major in Stockholm after G2 esports beat Fiend in the 5-8th decider upper bracket. The loss for Fiend means that they will play Copenhagen Flames in the 7th place decider and one of them will surely finish 8th.

That is all FaZe Clan needed, one out of ENCE, Movistar Riders, Copenhagen Flames, or Team Fiend to finish 8th to confirm their spot.

Earlier, FaZe couldn’t make it to the playoffs and had to play the 9-12th decider game. They finished in 9th place but even still, their fate wasn’t in their hands. But after today’s result FaZe can breathe a sigh of relief as they will be going to Stockholm.

This will be the 16th consecutive Major for Legend Olof ‘olofmeister’ Kajbjer, one of only 6 players to attend every Major in CSGO. He is in elite company alongside ‘shox’, ‘dupreeh’,’dev1ce’, ‘xyp9x’, and ‘Zeus’. The list will be cut down to 5 now as ‘Zeus’ retired after the StarLadder Berlin Major 2019.

This win leaves only 1 spot available from the EU RMR standings, which will be vied for between Fiend and Copenhagen Flames.

This brings the qualified teams up to 21, with 1 EU, NA, and Asian RMR spot still up for grabs.
