Wuthering Waves Is Coming to Xbox

Kuro Games confirmed during the March 2026 Xbox Partner Preview that Wuthering Waves is coming to Xbox this July. The announcement came during the March 2026 Xbox Partner Preview event, though an exact release date within July has not been set.

What Platforms Will Wuthering Waves Support on Xbox?

The game is headed to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming in July, with exclusive benefits for Xbox Game Pass members and Xbox Play Anywhere support.

Play Anywhere is worth noting. This makes Wuthering Waves the first gacha game ever to support Xbox Play Anywhere. That means players can carry their progress, saves, and achievements across Xbox consoles, PC, and Cloud Gaming without starting over.

The specific Game Pass benefits have not been detailed yet. Kuro Games will share more details closer to the Xbox release.

Players can already wishlist the game on the Xbox store ahead of the July launch.

What Is Wuthering Waves?

Wuthering Waves is a free-to-play action RPG from Kuro Games. It first launched on May 22, 2024, for PC via a standalone client and the Epic Games Store, as well as iOS and Android. The game later came to PlayStation 5 on January 2, 2025, followed by a Steam release on April 28, 2025.

It is a gacha-style game that operates similarly to Genshin Impact but with a broader focus on combat. The game also positions itself as story-rich, though a bulk of the story was rewritten after its beta release.

The game emphasizes overworld exploration. Players can use flight, grappling, and wall-dashing to traverse large distances with little stamina drain. Combat leans on dodging and counterattacking, with Echo Skills and quick-time events adding to the action.

How Has the Game Performed So Far?

In its first year, Wuthering Waves secured over 30 million downloads. The Xbox launch will be its broadest platform rollout yet, adding console players who had no way to access it outside of PS5 or PC.

Players who do not want to wait until July can already access the game on the Epic Games Store on PC.
