T1 has officially confirmed the addition of Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom to its Valorant roster.
Munchkin is joining the T1 Valorant roster as the replacement for Kang “DH” Dong-ho, who has been sent to the T1 Academy roster.
This marks the return of the 27-year-old to the organization after over two years. Previously, the South Korean IGL had played for the T1 roster during the VCT 2023 Pacific League before leaving for Gen.G later that year.
Munchkin had an incredibly successful run with Gen.G, landing a second-place finish at Valorant Masters Madrid 2024, followed by back-to-back first-place finishes at Masters Shanghai and Pacific Stage 2. More recently, Gen.G claimed third place at the Esports World Cup 2025, defeating PRX 2-0 after losing to Team Heretics in the semi-finals.
T1 welcomed Munchkin to the team through an announcement video on November 28th.
“The T1 VALORANT team competed in the VCT Pacific, and I was there at the start of it all,” Munchkin said in a statement. “The year 2023 with T1 was like a new beginning for me. After that, I was able to start a new journey. Winning the Pacific and then the Masters. All I could think was, ‘I finally did it.’ The reason I’m back at T1 is that there is a goal still waiting to be achieved. I’ve been through a lot, and now everything is clear.”
With the return of Munchkin, the T1 Valorant roster now includes the following players:
- Ham “iZu” Woo-joo
- Kim “stax” Gu-taek
- Kim “Meteor” Tae-o
- Yu “BuZz” Byung-chul
- Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom
- Lee “Carpe” Jae-hyeok
- Lee “CheongGak” Il-ho (Coach)
Needless to say, T1 fans throughout the world are eagerly looking forward to seeing this new roster in action.
