Twisted Minds Player Wa7sh Banned from PMGC 2025 Group Stage Over Alleged Cheating Incident

The controversy began on Day 2 of the PMGC 2025 Group Stage during Match 2 on Erangel. Twisted Minds 19-year-old player Wa7sh, whose real name is Abdullah Bassam, was accused of sneak peeking at an opponent’s device. Official Statement from PUBG Mobile Esports

PUBG Mobile Esports released a formal statement addressing the incident and explaining the penalties.

Here is the complete official statement:

“Dear PUBG MOBILE COMMUNITY. During Match 2 on the second day of the 2025 PMGC Group Stage, “Wa7sh” from Twisted Minds gained an unfair advantage against Team ARCRED by sneak peeking on a competitor’s device, as confirmed in the team voice recording file during the match.

PUBG MOBILE has a zero tolerance policy toward unsportsmanlike conduct and rule violations. “Wa7sh” has been disqualified from the tournament, in keeping with the 2025 PMGC Rulebook.

As a result, Twisted Minds will continue the remainder of the competition with their registered substitute player, and will forfeit the points accrued during the match as a penalty, as well as a 10 percent prize pool deduction. The updated standings will reflect this point deduction.

Upholding competitive integrity is our top priority, and we are committed to ensuring a fair gameplay experience for all players. PUBG MOBILE ESPORTS TEAM”

Impact on Twisted Minds

The decision has placed Twisted Minds in a difficult position. With Wa7sh disqualified, the team now has to complete the remaining matches using their registered substitute player. Along with the points forfeited from the match, they also face a 10 percent prize pool reduction. This penalty is significant, especially in a high-stakes tournament like PMGC where every point and every dollar can determine a team’s future in the championship.

The ban of Wa7sh from PMGC 2025 stands as a reminder of the strict standards upheld in competitive PUBG Mobile. Fair play is a core value of the tournament, and any violation is met with serious consequences. With Twisted Minds now forced to continue without one of their key players, the Group Stage becomes even more unpredictable.
