Strengthening Samsung’s Esports Presence in India
Since its launch three years ago, #PlayGalaxy Cup has expanded beyond a one-off activation into a structured engagement platform within India’s gaming ecosystem.
With mobile gaming continuing to dominate India’s esports growth, driven by affordable smartphones, expanding internet penetration, and creator-led communities — brand-backed tournaments such as #PlayGalaxy Cup reflect the increasing intersection between consumer electronics and competitive gaming.
By its fifth edition, the property has positioned itself as a recurring fixture in the mobile esports calendar, reinforcing Samsung’s strategy to align flagship hardware launches with gaming-first experiences.
Mobile Gaming’s Expanding Role in Brand Strategy
India remains one of the world’s fastest-growing mobile gaming markets. With creators playing a central role in shaping consumer perception and audience engagement, influencer-driven tournaments have become a strategic channel for technology brands to showcase performance credentials.
With the Galaxy S26 series integrated directly into tournament play, Samsung continues to emphasize gaming as a core pillar of its flagship device positioning.
As the Indian esports ecosystem scales, partnerships between hardware manufacturers and gaming communities are expected to deepen, particularly in mobile-first competitive environments.
