Riot Announces Important Updates To Valorant’s Premier Mode

Starting with Valorant Episode 7 Act 3, Riot Games will introduce a bunch of changes to the Premier game mode in the competitive shooter. These upcoming changes are aimed at improving the quality of matchmaking in the Premier mode while also taking into account some of the concerns that the community has raised over the past few months.

Riot has already revealed all the updates that they have planned for the upcoming Premier stage that’s set to take place in Episode 7 Act 3, and there’s some exciting stuff for the fans to take a look at.

Valorant Premier Mode Update: All Changes Explained

Here are some of the changes that Riot Games will introduce to the upcoming Premier stage:

Premier Practice

  • Moving forward, players will be able to get into a Practice Match on certain non-Match days during a specific one-hour practice window.
  • These matches won’t count towards the weekly match limit of the participating teams, or impact the Premier scores and division seeding, but they will follow the same structure as regular Matches.
  • Practice Matches will be held in a BO1 format on the same designated Map of the Week. Overtime rules will be win-by-2 (up to 3 sets of Overtime), then Sudden Death.

Timeouts

  • Teams will be able to take one timeout per side during Premier games. If the match goes into Overtime, an additional timeout can be taken.
  • The same timeout rules apply to Practice Matches as well.

Enrollment Updates

  • Team Enrollment will now last for one and a half days.
  • Teams created during or before this period will be able to recruit new members at any point in the Premier Stage.

Playoffs Seeding

  • Teams with higher Premier Scores will have more favorable seeding heading into the Playoffs.

Playoffs Queue

  • The Playoffs will have a seeding period of fifteen minutes for better matchmaking.
  • Teams must lock in and stay queued during the seeding period.

Premier Crests

  • Premier Crests will reflect your team’s performance and evolve over the entire stage.
