Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege Hacked Again

Ubisoft’s popular FPS multiplayer Rainbow Six Siege has been hacked once again, as hackers have managed to exploit its backend vulnerabilities, triggering widespread player bans and server disruptions. Having already faced similar problems in late 2025, R6 has fallen victim to the same issue once again, five days into 2026.

New Hack Sparks 67-Day Ban Wave

Unlike the hack from 2025, the new exploit is being used by hackers to randomly distribute 67-day bans to players without proper reasons. Players, as well as notable streamers, have reported the issue in which they have been banned for 67 days without clear reasons, which is the stark opposite of how the game’s anti-cheat enforces bans, citing the same reason.

This has sparked a community-wide outrage, and fans are asking why this particular game is attracting the attention of hackers, urging Ubisoft to fix the backend as soon as possible. The developers are yet to issue an official statement, leaving several open questions for players who are shut out of the game for an illegitimate ban.

Broader Security Breach and Chaos

Technical analysts and experts suggested that the hackers used the MongoDB memory leak exploit in the earlier hack, which essentially allows them to modify accounts at scale. This led everyone to assume that the same method was used by them once again.

Ubisoft has neither confirmed nor denied any of it, leaving players to assume the reason behind consistent breaches based on third-party expert remarks. Ubisoft has yet to release an official statement for the latest breach, but it would be safe to assume they are working behind the scenes to sort the issue.

Only time will tell when this issue will be addressed or if Ubisoft will be able to find a permanent fix for hackers exploiting breaches in their backend, but as of now, the game remains vulnerable and unsafe to use.
