PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2025 Day 1 Highlights
Match 1 – Rondo
The opening game took place on Rondo, where Orangutan faced a tough drop fight against Kara Esports, losing 3 players early (Kara 3–0 OG). However, Aaru clutched revives and brought the team back into the match. Despite a difficult start and losing another player during rotations, OG secured a Top 4 finish with 5 eliminations thanks to strong survival play.
AKOP delivered brilliant late-game survival, but Virtus.pro claimed the WWCD with 11 eliminations. ThunderTalk Gaming finished 2nd with 15 points, while R8 Esports dominated early fights with 12 eliminations before being taken down by Orangutan.
Match 2 – Erangel
Match 2 was full of pressure for Orangutan as they lost three assaulters early, but captain Aaru pulled off a clutch solo performance to bring the team to Top 2, securing 7 crucial points and avoiding a zero-point finish. R8 Esports won the match with 10 eliminations (WWCD), while ThunderTalk continued consistent form with 8 points. Regnum Carya earned 10 points, followed by Wolves with 6.
Match 3 – Erangel
In Match 3, Brazil’s Alpha7 Esports delivered a dominant performance, winning the chicken dinner with 17 eliminations and 27 total points, moving up to 2nd overall. Thailand’s eArena finished 2nd with 10 points, while Orangutan again played consistently, adding 8 more points, marking three consecutive Top-4 performances.
Match 4 – Erangel
The fourth game belonged to China’s ThunderTalk Gaming, who secured the chicken dinner with 18 eliminations, establishing themselves as the overall leaders after four matches. Madbulls followed with 20 points, Wolves collected 8, and ULF Esports and GS Team earned 7 and 5 points, respectively. This was Orangutan’s weakest game of the day, managing to secure just 1 point.
Match 5 – Miramar
In the fifth match of the day, Orangutan showed strong gameplay and secured 14 points, but the team will not be happy with the result—this was a perfect chicken dinner opportunity. While pushing the full DX squad, WizzGod and Aaru went ahead to finish a player, but both got knocked and eliminated, which turned into a big mistake for the team. Because of this, OG had to settle for a Top 3 finish. Madbulls took the Chicken Dinner with 22 points, while DX secured 12 points.
Match 6 – Erangel
In the last match, Orangutan took down Alpha Gaming — a team considered the best in the world in gunfights — and did it right in their own territory. AKOP secured two early kills, giving the team a strong start and proving once again that Chumacera belongs to India. However, the match didn’t go in their favor overall. Orangutan were later eliminated against Kara, finishing with only 4 points. Meanwhile, ThunderTalk closed the day in style with a 20-point Chicken Dinner. TT topped the final match standings with 20 points, followed by Wolves with 17 and Kara with 12.
