Bungie’s upcoming extraction shooter, Marathon, has opened up for pre-orders ahead of its release and will be bringing a horde of perks for early buyers. Extraction shooters have been gaining traction lately, especially with the release of Arc Raiders, which has taken the gaming community by storm, and Marathon is all set to be the first game that will truly challenge it for the throne.
Marathon Release Date & Price
Marathon is set to release on March 5, 2026, and will be available on all popular platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and, most importantly, PC. Fans have questioned its pricing, which rivals some AAA titles, given that competitive games are not usually as expensive.
The most affordable option, the Standard Edition, will be priced at INR 2449, and while it may not seem like much, we have seen competitive games go for far less. Arc Raiders, boasting a similar price tag, might be enough to justify the price tag, but unless the game lives up to that level, it would be deemed too expensive.

Should you Pre-order?
Given that this is a competitive game, Pre-ordering based on promises might not be the best way forward. There is always a chance that it may not appeal to the masses. Unlike Arc Raiders, spending a hefty sum might turn out to be an unwise purchase.
Given the hype around the game, there is a solid chance that it might turn out to be another banger that rivals Arc Raiders, but that can only be decided upon release. While the developers are giving strong incentives to players to order early, things can go wrong, as we have seen with other competitive titles.
