The Fortnite Kernel Hearts skins are now official and rank among the most anticipated drops among all the 2026 expected collaborations that were leaked in recent times. Joining forces with indie RPG Kernel Hearts, Fortnite is set to get skins as a part of their cross-promotional efforts between both developers.
The Fortnite x Kernel Hearts collab is expected to be released around March 31st, 2026, just in time for the launch of the Kernel Hearts PC demo. EPIC has yet to confirm this release date and the exact items included in the cross-promotional collaboration, but the crossover will probably coincide with the release of the PC demo.
Expected Fortnite Kernel Hearts Skins & Cosmetics
Inspired by the Kernel Hearts characters, the new collaboration is expected to bring the following items to the game:
- Fang Fortnite skin – the magic-wielding lead character from Kernel Hearts.
- Mikolaj Fortnite skin – mysterious soldier ally featured in the collab.
- Additional characters & cosmetic items — potential appearance by other magical girls and Tofu, the wolf companion.
- Themed Fortnite items — unique weapon wraps, gliders, and more.
How to Get the Skins
As of now, there is no concrete way of telling how Fortnite will let users have this skin, but judging by experience, they will come with a hefty price tag and only for a limited time. Getting them for V-Bucks might be the only way, but we can only confirm it upon release.
The collaboration is clearly an attempt to use the massive playerbase of Fornite to promote the upcoming Kernel Hearts, and as always, EPIC is expected to do a fantastic job of bringing elements from that game into their own. Given the game design for Kernel Hearts, one can argue that it will be one of the most desired Fortnite skins to this day.
