Fortnite fans have begun the countdown for Winterfest 2025, and this year’s event is shaping up to be one of the most magical holiday events in Fortnite history. While Epic Games hasn’t confirmed an exact launch date yet, industry insiders and leakers believe the popular seasonal event will start around December 14, 2025, with two weeks of festive content, free cosmetics, and major collaborations coming to Battle Royale.
Winterfest has been Fortnite’s marquee seasonal celebration for years, and 2025 is shaping up to deliver on that legacy in ways previously unimaginable. According to multiple sources, the entirety of Chapter 7‘s map will be blanketed in snow, transforming the landscape into a winter wonderland, visually quite stunning as a backdrop for holiday gameplay. Beyond aesthetic changes, players can also expect the return of popular mechanics like the Winterfest cabin and daily present openings, a tradition that has defined the event for years.
The hype doesn’t stop with the environmental changes. Harry Potter collabs and Hatsune Miku winter skins lead the list of collaborations, as leakers have confirmed that the wizarding world will finally come to Fortnite. According to sources, the Harry Potter crossover includes a broom mythic weapon to give players a completely new way to travel across the frozen island. On top of this, a winter-themed Hatsune Miku skin is currently in the works, complete with white clothing and accents of blue, along with a scarf.
The structure of the event remains the same as previous years, with quests divided over a period of about two weeks into four phases. With each new phase, three to four quests will unlock, giving rewards of XP and possibly free cosmetics. New content will join the loot pool, including jingle shoes and some new weapons, such as freeze pistols and freeze grenades, to keep Winterfest fresh over the holiday period.
