Popular singer and social media influencer Madison Beer’s request to be added to Fortnite as a skin has finally been addressed by Fortnite’s Design Director, following news of the request going viral on social media.
During her recent appearance on Hot Ones on February 12, Madison Beer revealed her affection towards Fortnite while voicing her opinions about the changes that the game has undergone as of late. Given that she is not the only one who doesn’t agree with the changes the developers are imposing, a part of the community related to her opinion before she concluded with a direct plea: “Give me a skin, please.”
Goes without saying that this was not an official request from the influencer, but more of an outburst of sarcasm, and it would have been wild had Fortnite given in to it; however, this did manage to garner the attention of the right people.
After Madison Beer’s interview got the attention of the Fortnite community on social media, Fortnite Design Director Ted Timmins responded with a quirky comment of his own on X. Neither did he agree to give her a skin in the game nor did he outright reject it, rather playing into the sarcasm, he said “I hope she likes the upcoming Season 2, some cool stuff in there for the OG’s to enjoy.”.
We can understand where Madison Beer is coming from, given Fortnite already has skins from singers like Sabrina Carpenter and influencers like iShowSpeed, but they didn’t get theirs before they managed to become chart toppers or global sensations. Only time can tell if EPIC chooses to bring Madison to their game, but as of now, it will lie on the pages of the internet without an ending.
